Summary: Great product from Viking! 64 MB
Review: I purchased a 64MB smartmedia April/2001 and just went to Yellowstone last week (Aug/2001) and took over 180 pictures. My camera is an Olympus 3000 zoom. Get the rechargeable batteries. You'll be thankful later. Great product!

Summary: Great product, just not for rio 300...
Review: I found this by searching for "rio 300" I thought WOW! I can put some of my favorite cds on my Rio special edition (I would then have a total of 128 mbs on there...) but when I went to run it... whammo... rio 300 only supports upto 32 exrta mbs! Ouch. Luckily I had considered this, and only bought one - reverting to plan b and using this for my Digital Camera. As a product, it works GREAT ... basicly unlimited pictures.. With my currently set quality settings (medium size pictures, medium quality) I can fit over 1,100 pictures. MORE than Ill ever need at a time (unless I take it to Europe... ;) ) A nice little ditty... buy it!

Summary: Quite simply: It works exactly like it is supposed to
Review: I use this Viking 64 MB Smartmedia Card in my Olympus C-2040 digital camera. I did not have to format the card the first time I used it. It works just like it is supposed to and does the job correctly. Quite frankly, Smartmedia is Smartmedia so it is the low price that sets Viking's products apart from its competitors.

Note: this card will not support the panaramic function of Olympus digital cameras. Only Olympus' Smartmedia cards will support this feature. But,if that is not an issue, this card will work fine in your Olympus camera.

Summary: Gotta have it
Review: Bought this for my new Fuji Coolpix 1400. Took the camera to Europe with this card, and took over 125 pictures. I would have been able to take only about 1/5 of that number with the card that came with the camera. It works, the price is right... what more is there to say?

Summary: Used with a Rio 500 player
Review: I use this with a Rio 500 player with great success. Two things that are important though: 1. You much get the firm-ware upgrade from Diamond Multimedia for the Rio 500 (at least the older models) to recognize 64mb cards.

2. Once you have formatted the card for use with a Rio 500, you cannot use it with other SmartMeadia devices.

That said, the card has worked flawlessly over the year I have owned it. I highly recommend it to bring your Rio 500 up to 2 hours of cd-quality music (I record at 128bits).

Summary: vacation memories
Review: I received the Viking 64 MB Smart Media card just before going on vacation. The price was better than I had found anywhere and as it turned out I took most of our vacation pictures on one card. All came through flawlessly. Shopping with Amazon was as simple as one click and the card arrived just a few days later.

Summary: Viking Smart media card 64 MB
Review: I use the card in connection with a Olympus C 3000. I get 86 images in 2048 *1536 standard JPEG compression. The card worked right away, when I installed it in the camera.

Summary: Incompatibility without software upgrade
Review: I purchased a Viking 64 Meg Smart Media card for use in my Olympus D-150 camera. It worked fine in the camera but when I went to transfer the photos to my computer via my FlashPoint Floppy Disk Adapter, the Smart Media card was not even recognized. Hence, I could not transfer the photos into my computer. My other Smart Media cards (Olympus and SanDisk) did not have this problem. I subsequently learned the Floppy Disk Adapter from SanDisk had upgraded software available for download which enabled 64 and 128 Meg cards to be read. The Viking card now works like a charm!!!
