Rating: Summary: Great little 10Mbps Ethernet card Review: I am using this card with my Compaq Aero 1550 Pocket PC to synchronize and access the Internet over my home LAN.I use DHCP on my LAN, and the card successfully obtains its IP address and other information from the DHCP server whenever I connect it to the LAN. The driver is built into the Pocket PC (and to the earlier HPC Pro version of Windows CE), so the operation is truly "plug and play." The card comes with drivers if you need to use it in other situations, though. One note: in order to synchronize your Pocket PC with ActiveSync on a host computer via the LAN, you have to configure your Pocket PC to use the address of the host computer as its WINS server address if you do not have a real WINS server on your LAN, as I do not at home. This is covered in the various Windows CE FAQs available on the Web. All in all, a great card. I have never been disappointed by Socket Communications products. (I have no relationship with the company--I am just a happy consumer.)
Rating: Summary: Great little 10Mbps Ethernet card Review: I cannot recommend this ethernet card for use in an HP Jornada 548 PocketPC. The HP does not have an eject button for flash cards, so this particular card is nearly impossible to remove. What's more, I never successfully had the card work on my home network. It never came up with an IP address from my DHCP server, and it did not work even when I manually entered an IP address. Other PCs work fine, but I'll never know if the problem was my net or the card since Socket's tech support never responded to my inquiries. Bottom line: I returned this card for a refund.

Rating: Summary: Works great Review: If I had to buy it again, I would have opted for the more expensive rugged connection. I don't know how long this cheap little plug will. Other than the card is excellent - and seems to have a low power consumption.

Rating: Summary: This Socket product is great!! Review: This is a great card and works fine with the HP Jornada 545 and 548 and the COMPAQ IPAQ. It is a bit difficult to get in and out of the Jornada but it is not that big a deal. I had no problem getting on to my network with it. I have a DSL line which I plug into a LINKSYS hub and then use to network all my computers at home; all I needed to do was plug the card into my IPAQ and the card output into my hub, modify my newsgroup and internet explorer to indicate I was on the network and I was good to go. Very nice card. I'll be buying their new cf card for Motorola CDMA phones as soon as it's available.

Rating: Summary: This Socket product is great!! Review: This is an excellent product. I have used it successfully to connect to 2 networks, I have also installed a thin client and used it to connect to a Citrix server. A lot of people complain that it is difficult to remove from the Jornada. My response to that is, once you have it in, why in the world would you ever want to remove it. Does this sound like a review for the Jornada?
Rating: Summary: Works great Review: Worked correctly on my Sharp Zaurus with no configuration required. I just plug it in (or unplug it) and the built-in software does the rest.
