Fujifilm DPC-UD1 xD USB Drive Reader

Summary: Very useful, only one drawback
Review: A very cool little device, this gives you an expandable flash USB stick - I guess you can use up to and including the new 512 MB cards with this device. I use with only 256 MB at the moment :-(
I have tried on Win98, 2k, XP and Linux, the former you will need to install a driver, but it works as standard USB mass storage, so no special driver is needed for Windows200/XP or recent Linux.
If you don't have xD cards, then look into them they are tiny and perfect for devices like this. I can't wait for an xD based personal stereo. My one gripe about this particular device is that the cap does not fit very well, leaving me to wonder how dust proof it is. I won't be keeping it in my pocket because of that, but will carry it around in my laptop bag. It would be nice if it was USB 2 too, for the larger cards.

Review: I am really loving this little device!

I already have a flash drive so I know of the ease and flexibility they provide.

This device is extremely easy to use.

Remove the over-all cap
Slide up the little latch
Put in your XD Photo Card
Close the latch
Plug into a USB port

Windows XP should recognize it immediately.

This is great for being away from home and your computer to camera connection. You can use it on any computer running Microsoft XP, 98, ME (have to download a driver for 98 and ME).

It also comes with a HUGE strap (longer than my camera's lol) and a USB extension cable, just incase you've only got an open port behind the computer or something.

Very flexible, easy to use, and functional!

Review: This reader works exactly as described. I use it with my Olympus camera 256 mb xD card. The only complaint I have matches the other reviewer - the cap does not fit well. I also would not carry it in my pocket but it stays in my bag with the camera and I can use it anywhere there is a computer with a USB connection. Since my camera is always with me, having the reader instead of a cord works great! I highly recommend this device.
