Summary: Fairly Well Build and Inexpensive.
Review: I have a 28-300mm zoom lens, but wanted a little more for those rare, non-serious, pictures at the beach on a sunny day. Since something like this would not be used that often, I clearly didn't want to spend a lot of money.

This teleconverter is built as well as any name-brand model I've owned in the past and has worked as expected. Like any teleconverter, it will not auto-focus with a slower lens except on the very brightest days, but should do so with a faster lens. I've had no problem whatsoever using it with the manual focus mode of my Maxxum 7 (the focus indicator in the viewfinder displays proper focus).

The pictures I've taken are acceptable. I've seen no serious distortion or loss of detail. With the lens I'm using (basically a 600mm with the teleconverter), a solid tripod is a must.

If your intentions are similar to mine, I recommend this product. Of course, if you want the very best (auto-focus under any conditions and so on), you probably should be looking at an expensive telephoto lens instead of a teleconverter.
