The 28-80mm f3.5-5.6 aspherical-macro lens is part of Sigma's new generation of compact standard zoom lenses. It retains the same 1:2 (half life-size) tele-macro capabilities of its predecessor, while incorporating a helical focusing system for convenient use of polarizing of graduate filters. This lens also utilizes a new optical design, and a flare-cut aperture to provide you with even better optical performance. A convenient depth scale is displayed on the lens barrel to help you calculate the depth-of-field. This lens is dedicated to Minolta AF SLR cameras.
