Rating: Summary: Sound rocks Review: The sound from this system is really good. I bought this because it was a Consumer Reports best buy, and that it is.. My friends are amazed by the sound. Another reason I got this is because the tapes can be operated completely remotely.Love it, recommend it.
Rating: Summary: The Sony MHC-RG40 rocks! Review: This shelf system rocks! With 200 watts of audio power, amazing sound, and lots of features, it is a great system. The comtemporary look is amazing. MiniDisc and Gamesync inputs let you expand with the system. Although the system has a slow CD changer ( that is, when loading CD's in), this system is amazing. I'd recommend it over the new GX-40. This system is awesome, and the sound might blow your ears out! I recommend it for anyone wanting a shelf system (if you can find it anywhere).
Rating: Summary: They don't make them like they did Review: This system is way below my expectations. I have an old Sony system that worked fine for 12 years until the CD drive died. I thought this one would be a better replacement, instead I wish I could buy a system just like the old one. This new system makes loud noise when changing from one CD to another, not to mention it takes a lot of time. Also, the buttons that operate the CDs are the same the operate the tuner and the tapes which makes it all very confusing to use; in my opinion, function should be obvious instead of having to read the manual to know how to operate it. The indicator for the sound is an art representation instead of a useful meter that would tell me how loud it is. Sony was a great company until they started licensing their name to other inferior businesses.
