Rating: Summary: Junk Review: Everything this company makes is cheap junk! Don't waste your money. I learned the hard way.
Rating: Summary: Don't bother to spend your money. Review: I bought two of these stereos for presents last year. They fell apart by June (CD players quit working, tuners began to short out). I have been trying to contact Emerson for a copy of the warranty for four months, but have not received the courtesy of a reply.
Rating: Summary: I admit it... I was HAD!!! Review: I fell for the nice look, the nice price, and yes even the nice sound. Brought this little "gem" home and was terribly pleased with my "deal". Pretty good sound for such an inexpensive cd player. Well, sadly, the story does not end on this happy note. Less than a week later, the "cheap electronics" demon reared its ugly head and my gem turned into a piece of ** (sorry can't think of a polite word). The CD player began to skip (a lot!!!), strange whirring sounds chirped up in the midst of my "listening pleasure", and even the radio wouldn't work properly, suggesting a short perhaps (I am no expert but I do know ** when I hear it). Back to the twilight zone for you, you piece of Emerson rubbish! And serves me right for trying to "go cheap"! *deep sigh* ... let this be a warning for all weary electronics pilgrims out there! I just wish I had read all the other (very truthful) reviews on Amazon before buying my possessed little piece of junk. They were all right, SO RIGHT! (except the one that said it was a great machine.. must be an empolyee of Emerson or something) I strongly recommend the JVC FS-H35 Executive Microsystem instead. I bought it in replacement of the Emerson and it was a real gem of a buy.
Rating: Summary: I love this little guy! Review: I just bought this little system today and it was really easy to set up. All i did was plug in a cord and set the time. Also, the little blue glow is an unexpected feature when the radio or CD modes are off. All my CD's work in it and I can get a good reception when the radio is on. Oh yeah, and theres a 10 channel memory for radio stations that helps you to find the stations you love quickly. And for the price, I couldn't pass it up for my new room!
Rating: Summary: Wrong Noise From a Stereo Review: I love the look of my stereo, and it has worked fine for me for the first few months of owning it. BUT... now the fan in the back is making such a funny noise that I cannot hear the music. I do not know why the fan is all of a sudden making a sickly noise after only 3 months of occassional use and of course it happens right after the 90 day manufacturer's warranty runs out.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Surprise! Review: This little system is a fantastic buy! Not only does it produce fabulous sound, but is small and beautifully designed to boot! If you are looking for a space efficient system that is attractive, very reasonably priced, and that even sounds better than many higher priced systems in its category, look no further. After comparing many higher priced mini executive-style systems from much better known manufacturers, I took a chance and bought two of these inexpensive systems as gifts. That was over six months ago, and I am still receiving rave reviews to date! Don't let the name or price fool you. I have since learned that, before the advent of Japanese imports, Emerson was one of the best known names in radio for generations. This contemporary model is definitely no slouch. I am thrilled I took a chance, and if you have any doubts, you take it for a test drive at Target yourself. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: dumb thingy Review: this thing sucks... it is a masterpiece of the art and science which I find very biblical: the masterpiece expresses a greal deal of nourishing banquetism and I didn't really find any comfort when reviewing this item... it should be banned.
Rating: Summary: Okay at first, turns sour later Review: This unit looked cool in the store and the display sound was promising. Two months later, there was a whirring sound in the fan in the back of the machine. Despite efforts to clean it out (thinking it was dust) it still whirs and is loud and distracting. Don't be fooled by the good looks.
Rating: Summary: Total piece o' ..... Review: To echo some other reviewers, my unit skips terribly on the cds it will even play. Also, the motor to open the cd door on top isn't strong enough. After about a month of use it became manually operated. Don't waste your money
