Summary: Great System
Review: I own this system and it is really incredible. All my friends comment on how the sound it produces is suprisingly loud for such a small system. It is also able to play more delicate music. I think the wood speaker cabinents add a lot to the quality of the sound, you don't see a lot of Hi-Fi shelf systems with quality wood speakers. These babys are hard to find so if you see one, pick it up, it will definetely be worth it.

Summary: Excellent sound/quality/value
Review: I was an engineer in the music recording industry for many
years. I've been called pickey. I have this system driving a
pair of JBL 4311s in my bedroom. Excellent system. The MZ-7
speakers are good and being used as delayed rear speakers in my
main living room system. The surround sound effect
is "interesting".
I would agree with another one of the reviews ... if you can find one at a reasonable price, don't hesitate to buy it.

Summary: Product of the Year award 2000
Review: This system got Hi Fi magazine mini/micro system product of the year award in 2000.

Note it has a 3 CD changed, a dual tape deck, and 50 watts RMS per channel.

Clean simple lines, and apparently a great sound.

Note also it is bigger than you would expect - it is NOT a micro system, but a mini.

When I get one I will write another review.

Summary: Excellent Sound - And plays CD-R's
Review: When the box came, my husband wasn't home yet, and I attempted to set it up myself. I was so easy! It took no more than 20-30 minutes and was very self explainatory. The sound is great from such a small unit. Granted you cant act as though you are a club DJ or anything, but other than that it is awsome. The only draw back (if you can call this a draw back) is that the backlighting Dimmer on it only works when the player is in play mode. If you are putting the system in your family room and are going to use the clock, the illumination of it is real poor, and I haven't found a way to brighten it. The HUGE plus is that it plays CD-RW's. It was so hard for us to find one that would, and this one will with the added bonus of great sound!

Summary: Excellent sound and value
Review: You don't see many of these for sale used because it's a rare piece of quality in the shelf system world at a very reasonable price. Excellent bass sound - even at low volume. Good "oomph" with little distortion. "Incredible Surround" really is pretty incredible (though it can put vocals too far in background at times). I have my unit connected to my TV/VCR and although it doesn't have "true" surround, the sound is excellent and movies are much more enjoyable! Speakers are solid (and heavy) and the whole system is easy on the eyes. I've seen some of Philips' recent versions of this (i.e. the mc-50) and it seems quality has declined. If you can find one - grab it!
