Rating: Summary: Excellent MP3 shelf system Review: Finally not 100% perfect but a SMALL minisystem that plays mp3 cd's yes i don't have to have my riovolt hooked up to my JVC FS series. .Notes though: 1) the unit is larger than you think (double the JVC microsystems) and of a cheaper build quality. 2) The unit plays mp3's filled cd's with greater than 130 tracks (64kbps to 256kps) (i have not filled them by album/directory (it says it reads eight directories deep), i just dump the stuff on cd and it plays it in order. 3) the orange/peach speaker covers are a BIT much 4) the power cord is NOT detachable, arggh 5) the display is not that easily readable (orange LCD with black letters). should have used a VFD (vacuum fluoro display) 6) an occasional jump in the track but all my tracks come from our friends at Kazaa so I am not sure of the quality to begin with. All they need to do is dump the cassette player (which i never use) shrink it by about 40% and add internet radio like the i200 boombox philips makes. For the money it is a nice INEXPENSIVE small (not micro JVC executives size) haven't seen the rio 1000 yet but really the only one else in the minishelf with MP3 CD 7) sound quality actually not bad for the price.
Rating: Summary: Solid all around for the price Review: It's stylish and sound good enough, button on the remote a little bit confuse, and the digital volume control is bad one, reception of the antenna not as good as the other brands. Mp3 playback is good, even put mp3s in folders, some other brands dont.
