JVC's FS-A52 executive microsystem packs tons of features into a compact, space-saving design. It's loaded with 25 watts per channel, two-step Active Hyper-Bass PRO, and two-way, bass-reflex speakers--the better to enjoy music from CD, radio, and cassette tape. The CD-R/CD-RW-compatible CD player boasts JVC's typically excellent-sounding 1-bit digital-to-analog converter and offers continuous play, random play, repeat play, and 32-track programming. An optical digital-audio output facilitates hookup with a PC, minidisc player, or outboard CD recorder. The digital tuner stores an impressive 30 FM and 15 AM stations, and does so automatically when you first set up the system. The cassette deck benefits from full-logic control, auto-reverse (for both record and play), ALC (automatic recording level control), auto tape selector (Normal, CrO2, metal), and CD Synchro/Complete Recording. A pair of stereo RCA analog-audio inputs lets you listen to audio from a PC or MP3 player, and electronic bass and treble controls help tailor the sound to your preference or compensate for listening conditions. The unique backlit liquid-crystal display has seven preset colors and 58 color variations, which can be set to show randomly or gradually, or to change daily. This large screen shows all key functions at a glance. A built-in clock/timer has daily, record, and sleep functions.
