Summary: Disappointing
Review: I love my m505 and bought the Palm hardcase (from a retail vendor) to protect it from harm. While stylish looking, I had nothing but problems with the case. It's composed to two hinged pieces with the PDA resting between the two. It's manufactured such that

A) the top of the case is in contact with the protruding power button of the Palm, thus resulting in my PDA constantly being on in the case, draining the battery

B) in order to open the case, you have to press the bottom section of it in while pressing the top section out, oftentimes turning on your Palm inadvertantly

C) the edge of the top half of the case cuts into your hand when it is folded back to hold the unit.

D) there are no storage slots for expansion cards

E) for the case to be completely closed, the provided stylus with a large plastic end must be used (otherwise there is an open slot where the stylus fits).

All in all, I wish I had not purchased this item.

Summary: Great Protection
Review: I purchased this case at the same time as my m515 and it has paid for itself over and over. I carry my Palm in my pocket at work and my job has me constantly running into things. My case is just about a year old and the front cover has signs of rugged use. There are several dents as well as some deep impact marks. The inside of the case is as pristine as the day I purchased it. This case has saved me a $... screen replacement several times. I have not had the problem of my m515 having it's battery drained by the case pressing the power button. All in all I would recommed this case to anyone. The only thing I wish it had was slots for SD cards like the Palm hardcase for the Tungsten T's.

Summary: Design Flaw?
Review: I purchased this case because I thought it would provide better screen protection than a soft case. Unfortunately, it drained my battery because everytime I closed it, it would press against the power button and keep the unit on. This problem is with the m515 model. If it werent for this, the case would get much higher ratings.

Summary: Perfect Combination
Review: I Received my hard case yesterday. I am very pleased with this product. I am using this case with the m515 and therefore do not have the power-on problems that those with the m500 have experienced. Previously I was using a Vx with the Palm hard case and was very pleased with the case. This case is a vast improvement over the Vx case. The case fits very well and seems to be secure. I have seen versions from Rhinoskin and thought that they were sort of clunky and unrefined. The only drawbacks to this product that I have noticed have been mentioned previously. It is not possible to hot-sync with the case installed (not a big deal) and there is no storage for expansion cards.

Summary: Super Secure
Review: I've used this case for a year with my Palm m515. It's extremely secure. It seems almost air tight. I've had no problems with it turning the Palm on when I close it or with the stylus falling out. It's like armor for my Palm and better than any other leather or nylon case I've had in the past.

The only problem is that in order to hot synch my Palm on the cradle without removing the case I had to set my cradle on top of a small block so the left side of the case has room to swing down. If not for this design flaw, I'd give it five stars.

Summary: A Poor Design
Review: Luckily I was able to return this case at a local retailer with no fuss...they already had many complaints about the case and no longer stock it. When closing the case the Palm can turn on (including the backlight) and stay on, which drains the battery. After losing battery power several times in a month I realized that this case is just not worth it.

Summary: Battery problem on the M505 only.
Review: Note the positive review from a M515 user! The battery problems are with the M505 model. The power button on the M505 protrudes out further than the M515 model. It's a great case, but just does not work well with m505/battery issue.

Summary: Nice style-but the powering on is a big problem!
Review: The case is nice, but the powering on the Palm is a major problem! I loved the way the case looked and did not find opening it very difficult. However, no matter how careful I was on closing the case shut, it would power the Palm on! A major flaw. Just taking the closed case out of my briefcase with the slight squeeze to pull it out-- turned it on. I think using the supplied stylus probably helped from closing it incorrectly so as not to squeeze too hard, but only if you carefully closed the case and not squeeze near the power button. For the 2 days I had tried to use it, I spent so much time trying to make sure it closed correctly without turning my Palm on. I took it back and got my money back. If they only fix this problem then I might consider it again. I ended up getting the Franklin Covey leather covered metal hardcase. It may not snap/lock shut, but it provides sturdy protection you would expect from a hardcase.

Summary: Does Not Open Easily
Review: The concept of a lightweight study case for my Palm m515 was appealing...it comes with a sort of cover that flips open in a purse, exposing it to everything else in my purse....I needed a case that covered the Palm completely.

Well, it sure looks nice, but is almost impossible to open. What a surprise since it is a Palm product.
I have returned it.

Summary: Fine ... For 5 months
Review: The hard case is nice (but heavy) and I had no problems for 6 months. Then for seemingly no reason the latch on the case now will not closed.

I never had a problem with the case turning the palm on and draining the battery. The stylus never falls out. I just can close it now. Pretty annoying given the cost. Of course I don't have the packaging (who would keep it for 6 months?) so I can't return it anywhere. Bummer.
