Rating: Summary: Good but not great Review: This case is great in almost every way. Very durable, sleek, holds the Palm securely and all the things you would want a protective case to do. There are two shortcomings. The first is that the power button is exposed, which means it can be turned on by accident. The second is that although in the description it says the IR port is open for easy transfer, you can't hot-sync it in a cradle without taking it out of the case. That's a real pain.
Rating: Summary: excellent case - perfect for the zire Review: This case is special made for the zire 71. It is made of durable aluminum and is very light in color. kinda like tin foil except much much harder. The flap opens to the right... for some people this is counter-intuitive but i'm left-handed and had no problems. For right handed folks it may be a little awkward to open the cover and actually use it while holding it with the left hand. The padding inside covers every area of the zire. The expose sections are for the IR, stylus, headphone jack and palm universal adapter. Yes, it does not charge in the cradle that it came with so i bought the boxwave mini-sync which is great for travelling. I recommend it if you buy this case. I can charge and sync while the pda is in the case. it does get a lot of attention unlike a low-key leather case but then again, i can't put a leather case in my jeans pocket. this one i can w/o any worries. warning, be careful when stuffing your hand into your pocket with this case in it... you might cut your finger on the edges. it's not because the edges are sharp... but they are made of metal... and don't take kindly to any force applied to it... enjoy.

Rating: Summary: Adds bulk, not totally expandable Review: This is a great product if you don't mind adding some bulk to your Zire 71, but it was bulkier than I had expected. The product description says your PDA is fully expandable within the case, but that's only partly true. You cannot fit an encased Zire 71 into the hotsync cradle. The thin foam padding also seems to push the Zire 71 a little out of alignment with the cutout slot for the Universal Connector, so I'm not sure if you could plug in a free cable into the bottom of an encased PDA (though I haven't tested that).
Rating: Summary: Great case! Review: This is the best case I used for a PDA. I had a leather case before and it just wasn't good enough. This case I could carry with me and not worry about my Zire 71 being scratched or broken or being turned on by accident. This case is very tough and doesn't have any of this flimsy things in it that could brake from above average use. It even has removable clip that attaches to your belt. It felt very secure when I wore it. This is the best case I used.
Rating: Summary: Watch out for the belt clip Review: While the case is great,(it saved the Zire 71 from serious damage) the screw that attaches the case to the belt clip is a bust it fell off while I was on my bike in traffic. The case bounced twice and opened, dent in the case and scratch on the palm zire. I no longer trust it, it now rides in a pocket. I also can't charge it while in the case.
