Rating: Summary: Inconvenient, sloppy and just not worth it. Review: A semi-hard case should give you the ability to quickly get the camera out of your bag, strip off the cover and take a picture all in one swift motion. This is NOT so with this case. I had to struggle with the base that holds the camera to the cover. It got to a point that I had to just take out the base and just use the cover. Even then, the cover is not designed to be removed very quickly. I wanted one that you can strip off with one swift motion. This was not what I got. Instead the locks and velcro openings were located where I had to turn the camera around several times to uncover it.Please, don't get this if you're looking for a no-hassle cover. It's almost as inconvenient as a hard cover box - except this case doesn't protect the camera as much. What was the designer thinking? I was going to give it a single star, but it's saving feature is it's looks. It's sleek and low-profiled. - johnny -

Rating: Summary: Does What A Case Should Do Review: I bought this case for the Canon Rebel 2000 camera, and although I couldn't tell from the product description or other reviews, I ordered it hoping it would fit over the "Kit" lens -- the 28mm-80mm zoom. Which it does. It's a well-made soft "leather-like" two-piece case with a bottom part that attaches to the camera's tripod socket and a detachable top piece that snaps into the bottom. In several days of use I've found it to protect the camera (and lens) from ordinary jostling, dust, direct sunlight, and so on. To cover the camera, the top piece wraps underneath the camera body and over the lens and camera top. A small tongue velcroes in on one side and a snap at the back secures it all in place. Opening it up to take a pic is a two-handed affair measured in seconds -- it's no speed holster. And you'll have to deal with the top portion dangling from the base, as noted by one review, but for me that hasn't been a problem. I'd have given it five stars if it was priced...less.

Rating: Summary: Designed for Inconvenience Review: I have owned several Canon cameras and have always been perfectly satisfied with both camera and case. Opening and closing the EH13-L case, however, was so unmanageable that I finally threw it in the trash and bought a universal case from a local discount store. Much, much better. I can't understand why Canon would provide a poorly designed case for such a well designed camera as the EOS Rebel 2000.
Rating: Summary: Serves My Purposes as Expected Review: I just received my order of this semi-hard protective case from Amazon for my newly purchased Rebel 2000 QD. I bought this for the protection of my camera without the use of the bulky gadget bag during occasions and events when carrying mulitiple bags would be impractical and inconvenient (I am referring to ladies having to carry a gadget bag in addition a large purse or tote). This fitted case is just as I thought it would be. It is well constructed of guality lined embossed thick vinyl on one part and a hard casing on the other. It is trimmed with piping along all edges for a nice sleek look. It fits snugly around the camera with the lens on and has openings to allow the straps to be exposed so one can hang the whole thing around the neck. A hard fitted shell (about 1/3 the height of the body) screws into the bottom of the camera, and onto this piece the other larger piece shaped like a conical mask is snapped and velcroed into place to cover the entire camera. When taking a picture, one unsnaps and unvelcroes this mask from the bottom part in all areas except one snap leaving it to dangle as you take the picture. This process of removing the mask piece takes about 3 seconds. One needs to remove the bottom portion to change film or battery and adjust the date settings, as the date display but not the adjustment buttons are exposed -- an easy removal step that takes about 5 seconds. By the way, because the case fits the camera like a glove, the entire assembly, camera with case on, can fit in the gadget bag that came with the kit. This will conserve space when storing or packing for a trip. So in short, for me, this case provides protection for my Canon SLR against scratches and contact of other items when carrying it in a bag with other items. Remember, accidents can happen - I ruined my last Rebel when a container with liquid in it broke and the liquid contents leaked onto the camera.

Rating: Summary: Good protection, not very practical! Review: I recently purchased this item in preparation for a trip I took. I was looking for a case for my Canon Rebel 2000 that was not very bulky but would provide some protection for my camera when going in and out of taxis, trains, airplanes and being in my backpack. What I found in my experience was that it provided fine protection as no damage to my camera occurred, however the practicality of it led me to take it off many days during my trip. If you want to take a picutre you can unsnap the top shell and have the rest hanging from the camera while you try to hold it still which became quite cumbersome. Then I decided to take it off fully to take picutres which required the assistance of my boyfriend. This particular case also has a piece that screws into the hole in the bottom of the camera and comes along the entire back side which houses the film. This is the part upon which the case is essentially anchored. Since I love to take a lot of pictures on our vacations, this became an extreme nuisance as I was having to stop and take apart the entire apparatus each time I had to change film. This was not always an easy task to perform as we were traveling in areas where pick pocketing was rampant and I constantly had to take the entire case off to change rolls. While providing adequate protection to my camera, this case made the task of taking photos a lot more complicated. I would recommend this case to those who are not on the go and can stay in one place long enough to take it off. In the long run I will probably end up investing in a larger case once I buy another lens.

Rating: Summary: Praise & Complaint Review: Sleek and simple for nice occasions, but a bit awkward to un-snap and re-snap quickly. I don't regret now buying the case since I don't have cumbersome accessories. However, once I get a bigger lens, I will have to buy those huge lunch--box-like thingamajigs.
