Summary: One helluva bag
Review: I absolutely love this bag..I use it for my Wide Screen 15.4" Dell Inspiron 8600, which absolutely doesnt fit in any other backpack in the market. This one's a real stud. Though a bit heavy, its one solid unit, and protects the laptop well, with tons of room for your other stuff. I intend to use it mainly for Air travel, and bought it after a lot of research in Circuit city and other stores.

Summary: This thing does it all.
Review: I needed a good way to carry my laptop onto planes and around the E3 show in Los Angeles, CA. So I purchased this backpack. It is everything I had hoped for in a laptop backpack. This thing holds my 15 inch Sager 5690 perfectly and the protection is top notch. The bag has room for pretty much any and all business related items you would think to bring. It has great construction, roomy compartments, and the overall TARGUS quality you'd expect! I recommend this to anyone except people who have laptops with bigger screens. I hear some 17's fit in here, I just don't know which ones.

Summary: Best backpack for a laptop EVER!!
Review: I've never seen anything that kept my laptop so safe from damage and/or water. If you want something hip AND protects your notebook computer, buy this Targus backpack!

Summary: FALSE ADVERTISING - 17" powerbook owners beware
Review: If you have an Apple Powerbook 17", DO NOT BUY THIS BACKPACK.

Although the product is nicely made and attractive, especially for the price, the notebook compartment is padded on the sides and bottom, but not on top. There is only an elastic band on top that holds the laptop in place.

Although the manufacturer's description says that this backpack can hold a 17" powerbook, I suppose it would fit -- but the top of the notebook would be against the edge of the laptop and UNPADDED. If you care about avoiding dents in your powerbook, do not order this.

On the other hand, if you have a 15" laptop and don't need a really-well insulated notebook compartment, I would recommend this bag. 16" is just borderline. It has a comfy gel padding on the back and a sporty look.

Summary: One Solid Unit
Review: If you need protection for your notebook, and room to carry a variety of other items, this might well be your bag. This Targus unit has a dedicated sleeve area for a notebook, and has a rather unique zipper up the middle and flap that buckles, ensuring that everything stays steady.

However, please consider:

- this is a solid, boulder of a unit. This baby felt heavy when empty. If you load it up, as I do, you'll feel like you're going off to war.

- the small, side pouches sit out too far for my taste. I'd like to be able to walk down a plane aisle with this on my back, but each time I've snagged those little sidecars on the seats as I'm walking by.

- The pocket inside the foldover flap is a great hold-all, but if you attempt to open the pocket while the flap is inverted you risk dumping pens, coins, etc. everywhere.

Summary: Excellent product for the money
Review: Purchased this item to use as a "briefcase" as a claims adjuster. Found the identical item for twice the price at Best Buy but returned it to order online at Amazon. Many pockets provide exceptional storage. Computer case can be removed separately to lighten the load when it's not needed. Carrying handle, back-pack and wheels with handle make it quite versatile no matter the terrain. Highly recommend this to anyone who needs a sturdy product that needs to be mobile.

Summary: Little Pricey, But Nice
Review: There's a lot of good in this bag and only one bad, but I'll get to that in a bit. First, the good. Nicely constructed, seams are double sewn in many places. There's a tough vinyl bottom. All exterior zippers have string extensions. There's a sturdy handle on top (this is great, since a flimsy one would crimp your hand). The waist band helps lighten my brick heavy laptop (8 lbs!). The back padding is a nice touch, since it would be a bear to have a hard laptop against your back for a long period of time.

The laptop compartment just barely holds my 15" brick, I mean Dell. The placement is in the back, where it should be. Protected between my big gut and a pile of books. There's a cell phone holder, it's OK. Not sure where to place it, since the only two places to place it seem to be very high or very low on the shoulder pad.

So, what can I complain about? The shoulder straps a a little too thin. That's it, nothing too bad. . .

My comments to some complaints:
Too many zippers? Naw.

Does it need a crush proof section for the laptop? Nope. That would be too rigid for a backpack and would add weight.

Place the laptop in the front section? Would you place the heaviest item in your backpack in the front?

A closure for the laptop section to keep dust/dirt/paperclips out? That might be nice, but not necessary. I'm going to work, not the mountains.

No reflective trim? Buy some and tape it on if you want it. I don't!

I do not mean to offend any previous reviewers, just wanted to respond to some issues that they had.

Summary: Durable, Roomy, Stylish
Review: This is by far the best notebook backpack I found. My laptop is a 15.5" and its hard to to find a backpack that wasnt HUGE. This doesnt look huge but it has so much room inside it and plenty of space for books, disc, power cords, a mouse, etc. I also think its well made and has enough padding to protect your laptop. The zippers are great!!! Really smooth and it never feels like its sticking. Its also a lot easier on your back than one of the messenger style notebook cases! It also comes with a lifetime warrenty if you fill out the card and mail it back (at least mine did...it was inside the bag).

Summary: This is the best Notebook backpack I've ever owned.
Review: This is the Targus Sport Standard Computer Backpack Model #TSB215. It is the same as model Model #TSB212 (there is a picture of this type on the Amazon{.com} site) except that is has blue fabric where the Model #TSB212 has a platinum color. This ensures that this backpack doesn't look like your average computer bag and that is an added bonus if you ask me.

The bag itself was designed by people who really know what is needed in a notebook backpack. Finally enough space to take something more than just a computer. You can add some books and there is plenty of space for all the wires/batteries/mouse etc. There are separate pockets all over and they are useful in size and lay-out. There is a variety of mesh pockets on the inside and they are fantastic for disks and smaller things. There is even a cell phone bag attached to front of the one of the straps that comes off if you don't need it.

The notebook pocket is located right in the back in the largest compartment of the bag, and thus reducing the experienced weight to the absolute minimum. The notebook pocket is firmly padded and this pocket is suspended so when you put the bag down the notebook will not hit the floor.

Overall I'm thrilled and since a variety of well-known brands have opted for this design to become their standard backpacks, I'm not surprised. Well worth the money and a great buy!

Summary: Great backpack --- especially for a motorcycle!
Review: When I bought my dream motorbike, I realized I also needed a backpack. I tried numerous backpackes, until I found this on Amazon.com. And it's perfect!

It looks great, is extremely comfortable, very rugged and spacious. Includes lots of pockets, including one for a cell phone on the shoulder strap, which looks cool.

It's a great computer backpack, and a definite buy if you have a motorcycle.
