Rating: Summary: This will cover, but not PROTECT, your camera! Review: This case is effectively just a soft leather sheath. It has no strap or clip--just a belt loop--nor does it have storage for extra batteries or memory cards.
OK, so it's a classy little case, the price is right, and it fits the camera perfectly, but it fails at its basic purpose, which is to protect the camera. There is absolutely no padding or rigidity whatsoever, so when you put this compact little bundle into your purse or pocket, that vulnerable LCD screen remains just as vulnerable.
When (not if) you bonk something against that ill-protected screen, it will crack, and the $100+ repair will not be covered by your Canon warranty.
Ask me how I know this? My daughter, who purchased her Elph with Christmas money and a year's babysitting savings, has had hers for all of two weeks, and it's already on its way to the shop. I might add that this is NOT an irresponsible child, just one who carries pens and a calculator in her purse with the camera.
Avoid a similar scenario and spend a few bucks on a REAL case, please. Canon should be able to do better.
Rating: Summary: Canon ELPH Leather Case Review: This is a cute little black case. My S410 4MP camera fits perfectly in this case (there is no room for anything else, so if you are looking for a camera bag which will fit all your accessories, don't buy this case).
The only down side is the big tacky gold lettering on the case. I wish they used smaller fonts in silver lettering. But it's a good case to lug your camera around in if you go on short trips.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Review: This is a perfect fit for my S230. You should get the deal with the S230 while it lasts if you are looking for a digital camera. It also has a belt loop if you're traveling I suppose. And a hole specifically for the wrist strap.
Rating: Summary: GREAT LEATHER CASE Review: THis was a terrific buy. Great leather and and great fit for the Elph S230. Now I feel somewhat protected for when I eventually drop the camera.
Rating: Summary: from belt loop to clip Review: True - this excellent case only has a loop, which requires a belt to hang from. So I took a spring metal clip from an eyeglass case and had a local luggage repair shop rivet it on to the loop. Now I can use it without a belt too. To attach the rivet it was necessary to undo the stiches on one end of the loop. Restiching was no problem and I paid $7.50 for the job.
Great camera, great case!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: Unlike the many camera cases available locally, this one fits my Canon S400 perfectly - I did not wish to spoil the convenience of a small camera by a bulky bag. Functional, attractive, well-made, durable & inexpensive, another Amazin' Amazon bargain! Did I mention I like it very much?
Rating: Summary: great case for a great camera Review: well.. the reason i have opted to buy a canon elph S410 over other cameras is the quality of pictures i get and its compactness. but once after buying this camera, i was looking for a case which can hold it perfectly and a compact one like my camera. apart from its compactness, there are some additional features like belt clip and a hole on the top of the case for the strap of the camera.. i think its the best design u can get for an elph model.. the quality of the case is very good.. smooth finishing and very light weight.. good deal for just $11.9.. i will strongly suggest this case for those carring elph cameras..
Rating: Summary: Nice leather, snug fit, just plain great!!! Review: What a nice suprise for the price. The case is a super soft leather. Quality materials here, no discount store stuff. The fit for the Canaon S230 is perfect. It adds as little bulk as possible. I intend to keep the camera in this case all the time when not using the camera. I also have a slightly larger case that will hold the camera with this "slipper" case and an extra battery, CF card, charger, etc when I am storing it or packing it away for travel. For the price everyone buying a S230 should get it.
