Summary: Got What I Expected for a Good Price
Review: I'm the mom of a 10-year-old who is just discovering his own tastes in music. I wanted a well-priced product for casual use - on the bus and in the car. He was thrilled with this item as a birthday present. From reading other reviews, I knew to get him extra earphones and batteries right off the bat. I got him a CaseLogic case to go with it so he has plenty of room to store CD's extra batteries, etc. He thinks it looks really cool. I am pleased. Thanks to all others that wrote reviews so I knew what to expect. If you are looking for a cool-looking item for a casual listener (no jogging, etc) this is a great deal, especially if you need the car kit (which I do).

Summary: Great CD player/headphones not
Review: The GPX CD Player was a great gift for Christmas for my two teen aged girls. Its sleek style and fashionable color met their standards, all the while producing great sound. The anti- skip feature seems to be adequate. The headphones, on the other hand, while attractive, break quite easily right above the ear contacts (within 2 weeks of xmas). Trying to get replacements from GPX has been somewhat trying, as they want MONEY for them. I finally bought headphones that are actually sturdier and provide better quality.

Summary: Pretty Good for the money
Review: it works well but it does not sound good with the bass on and also when you turn it up and head phones are trash so go out and buy some nice ones but most head phones are trash it looks really cool but if a lot of dumb losers on your bus hit it a lot it will not work well but shocks are good enough for the bus and jogging and fits well in your pocket but with shocks on u go through a lot of battteries is spenend like $20 on batteries a month but for the money it is pretty good but i wanna give it 3 and 1/2 starss

Summary: Mostly happy with this product
Review: I just purchased this portable cd player. I was very excited it came with a car kit, as I will use it primarily in my vehicle. I was very impressed with the sound quality the cd player has. My only complaint is that the 40 second anti shock isn't as good as it is advertised. If I hit a bump on the road or just with just walking it worked fine, however if I moved the cd player around alot while it was one, it skipped a lot.

Overall I really like the cd player and it was a good value.

Summary: Huh......
Review: Many people who enjoy this player seemed like they had never operated one before. Of course the ESP would work if you "smack it or even drop it". Do you have any idea how ESP works, obviously not. It is stored in an electronic memory for 40 seconds (or whatever) until the song gets to that part. By dropping a player, you physically can't delete this information. ESP - >>Electronic Skip Protection. I say get the $70 ones.

Summary: Great deal for the price
Review: I needed a portable cd player to use in a rental car while on an extended trip, so after some comparison shopping both online and in retail stores, I ordered the GPX player. Overall, this is a great buy. It has all of the features you would expect with a upper-end unit and a cool design, but most importantly, it works well.

However, I have a few quibbles with my unit that I feel that I should mention in my review. First, this unit could really use a backlit display. Secondly, the player reads most (but not all) CDR/CDRW media. I have had trouble getting it to read TDK brand discs. This player does not include any type of belt clip in case you want to take it with you out of the car. Last, the headphones included with the unit are cheesy, you'll want to upgrade them right away.

In conclusion, the GPX unit is a good value for the money, with just a few little quirks that kept me from rating it 5 stars.

Summary: Broke once, shame on them. Broke twice, shame on me
Review: This seems like a great little player. Until it stopped reading CDs. I returned it, and instead of asking for a refund, asked for a replacement. This one failed also. I'm very gentle with electronics. This was not abused. I, however, was, in trying to get a refund after the second one died. Anyone want a CD player that doesn't play CDs?

Summary: This can't br GPX!
Review: I had really needed a CD Player to carry around on trips and basically just for personal use. I was attracted to the more expensive Sonys, RCAs, and Panasonics, but like many just couldn't afford it. I needed something inexpensive but at the same time worth the money put into it. That's when I saw this. I was skeptical about buying it, I had gotten use to the expensive stuff. But since I was desperate I bought it anyway and I was sure surprised. The Anti-Skip works just as good if not better than the more expensive ones. The bass-boost sounds like something you'd find in a Sony. And it just topped it with the Car adapter. You don't even get that in a $70 set. Total knockout. If you're skeptical like I was about the low cost compared to the more expensive, or if you're just flat out skeptical, this is the best CD player I have bought yet. This is a must buy and a best buy in one.

Summary: It's all right, but.. I don't recommend it
Review: This cd player is very decent for it's price and it works alright so far. I happened to be disappointed in it when I received it in the mail. There was so many features that bring down the quality of the cd playeritself. It doesn't make a good car cd player unless you go on very long trips. Everytime you turn off the car, the cd player turns of it's Electronic Shock Protection and you have to turn it on each time. Second it doesn't have a resume button, so you have to start your cd all over again. It lacks a place for a remote. It's just too much of a hassle. The only real good thing about it is maybe it has 40 sec esp. I wouldn't recommend that this a cd player as a thing to make a big deal about.

Summary: Can't beat the price
Review: A friends Daughter has this player. I tried it when we went camping. It player my Cdr's great. My friends new Ford expedition's cd player wouldn't. The anti skip was ok, not great, However, I was so impressed with the features and accessories that come with it I bought one for my daughter. It can't be beat. If your a real Music fanatic it probably isn't for you. For Children, Teenagers, or someone looking for an inexpensive player that will play cdr's this is the one.
