Rating: Summary: avoid like the plague! Review: Thought I was getting +r's, used these and hated them! Will not be read on Sony PS2 or a host of other systems. Bought a new burner cause My recording time slowed way down before I noticed (in type to small to be viewed) they were -r's.
Rating: Summary: Burn at 8X without a problem Review: I was writing full 4X with my Pioneer DVR-106 with no issues at all. I recently got the Pioneer DVR-108 with the firmware patch, and now burn at 16X (8-9X actual) with Nero with no problems at all. I've gone through 200 of these and have I never produced a single coaster. They only issue I've had was about 5% of them would have a little bit of video glitches/pixelation. I bet it's my cheezy DVD player tough. I've given the 'pixelized' ones away and everyone has always reported that they've played perfectly.
Rating: Summary: Review: Out of the pack of 100 I bought, about 5 wouldn't burn and about another 5 would have artifacts and glitches in the video. I never had a problem when using them for data backup. I have a Mac Super Drive (PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105) and use DVD Studio Pro, Fast DVD Copy and Toast 6.0. I would recommend these. Just make sure you update all of your firmware and make sure your burner is compatible.
Rating: Summary: Inkjet Printable Memorex DVD-R Review: Bought the DVD+R printable, and about half way through the 100 spindle started burning coasters at about 2 bad to every 1 good. Still have about 25 left. Was worried about the DVD-R's but I have burned about 30 without loosing a single one. The DVD+R's complete the burn, but fail during verification near the end (80-98% range). Using LiteOn 411S with FS0J firmware. Avoid the DVD+R, and go with the DVD-R.
Rating: Summary: Excellent results, so far Review: I've used a pack of 100 and have 0 coasters.
They even work in my 6 yr old Sony player.
Only disappointment is that the surface is matte, not glossy.
Memorex help desk say's no glossy discs are planned due to ink absorption issues.
I burn them with a Pacific Digital 8x burner and print with an Epson R200 printer.
Will be ordering another 100.
At this price, they're the cheapest name brand discs I can find.
As the other reviewer say's, if it wasn't for the notation, "Printable dvd" in the hub area, no one could tell it from the real thing.
