Rating: Summary: Good Memory Stick Review: I recently bought this memory stick and I'm very pleased. Unlike the first comment, I haven't noticed any shortage of space, each half of the card is equal to my 128 card (also a lexar). The switch is annoying, but tolerable to have the extra space. I would definately recommend this memory stick to anyone looking for a 256 mb stick that doesn't want to pay Sony prices.
Rating: Summary: didnt work Review: menory s tick gave a "memory stick error" message in my sony 707 camera the first time it was inserted into the camera..returning it.
Rating: Summary: Why do you recommend products to clients you won't ship to? Review: That's outright stupid, isn't it?
Rating: Summary: Lots o' pictures for the ol' camera Review: The first thing you need to know is that a Memory Stick Pro stick won't work in a device designed for just the regular Memory Sticks. So you can stop drooling over the 1GB Pro sticks now.
That leaves regular Memory Sticks, which must have some memory-addressing issue that only allows 128 MB to be available at any one time. So, to have a larger Memory Stick, you need one with a switch so that you can switch between the two memory chips which each can be no larger that 128 MB. That's what this stick has. Of course, you have to take the stick out of the camera to flip the switch. And the switch is small, but it is surprisingly easy to operate with a fingernail.
Right now, I'm using it with a 2 megapixel camera, so I get over 100 shots per chip, or over 200 shots on the stick. For a photo geek like me, that's great. I've been very satisfied with this Memory Stick.
Rating: Summary: This is not a 256MB module!!!!!! Review: This is two 128MB modules in one case. In order to access the 2nd 128MB module you must flip a switch that is so small (1 millimeter) that I can barely see it and cannot do it without a magnifying glass and a ballpoint pen. When you transfer data, you must take the memory stick out, flip the switch and read it a second time. What a stupid piece of junk this thing is.I recommend you spend $13 more for the sony pro 256MB, which is really a 256MB module, or just buy a 128MB module since most of the time you'd never go through all this. Lexar probably saved a dime per memory stick by playing this dirty trick on its customers. This consumer will never trust them again!
Rating: Summary: Incompatable with so many things Review: Yes, I can store music on my PDA (UX-50) sometimes. Big deal. The "Pro" is not compatable with Sony software, nor my new Sony television.
