Summary: The Best CD Player I have ever had!
Review: All right. This is the best player I have ever had. I take this Player to school everyday for 3 years. It takes a beating. I's got virtually all of it's silver paint scrapped off, but it still keeps working. I've dragged it up Mt. Manadnock it nearly white out conditions. Once my pack broke on the way up. Then I was litteraly throwing my pack down the mt. with 20 ft. drops. When I got in the car and took out my player it worked fine. I was amazed that it could take such a beating and still work! As far has I'm concerned some of the other reviews are really underating this CD Player!

Summary: Sony's products are decreasing in quality
Review: I bought this discman a year ago. At first, it was great. The headphones were weak, but I already had some. The sound quality is terrific, especially if you listen to bass-heavy music. I never run with a discman, and it ordinarily sits in the car when I'm not walking with it. But I also noticed how lightweight it was.

Then it all began to unravel 3 months ago. It started skipping like crazy in the car, and would totally turn off and reset when jostled. I noticed that the plastic piece in the center where the CD is mounted had a tiny piece broken off. A month later a second piece broke, and now it doesn't read discs at all. I realized that a similar situation occurred with my previous Sony Discman. An independent repairman offered to give me a break on the labor, but it would still cost $45 to replace the part. A part that would probably break again.

A word of caution: sound quality isn't everything. If the stupid thing doesn't work, who cares how nice it is to listen to? Now I need a new Discman, and after two straight bad experiences with Sony, I am not going back. Their stuff costs WAY more than it's worth.

Summary: Better than they say!
Review: I don't know what the others think, but this unit is excellent. It's battery life is much longer than any I have owned, and the Megabass is great. It doesn't skip, and although it's headphones aren't perfect, I dare you to find much better for the price. If they matter that much to you, then you shouldn't be in line for a personal CD player.

Summary: Super
Review: I got it around two months ago and its great, exept the headphones the sound stpped coming out of them a few weeks ago, so I use my walkman headphones. The discmans performance is perfect andthats what counts. The options are great the groove is a little to bassy for me but that doesn't mean everyone. As for battery life with ESP always on its fair, without ESP its great. I love it and i reccomend it to aanyone who wants this kind of audio.

Summary: fairly good cd player
Review: I got this cd player last summer (a year ago) and it's still just as good as when I got it. I got an earlier cd player by them a few years before that, and it's still in the same condition, too. The ESP on this one is good, but I've found that it doesn't skip that much even when the ESP is turned off. One bad thing is that I've found that it doesn't read cd's that I've burned and it can't read the next track on burned cd's. My old one could, so if you live on custom cd's like some people do, I'd ask other people to find one that does. Also, it tends to skip, even with the ESP on, if it is sitting vertically in a backpack pocket (ex. all those niffty, new cd-loving backpacks). All in all, it's a good cd player for most things.

Summary: electronics lover
Review: I have had this Discman for 2 years. While I admit that you can't do much with it, like run or move around a lot, it has always worked well. One time, I tripped and fell right on top of it (it was in my pocket). The headphones broke, but the Discman didn't miss a beat. I think that's pretty good. My only problem is that if you simply tap the lid, it skips. If you just want to listen to it in a car or something, get something to post it on and it will work fine. If you want it for running or something of that nature, look elsewhere.

Summary: If You Want To listen To A CD Alot, This One Isn't For You
Review: I wish I could write a great review for this. But I really can't. The rating I'm giving it is very generous. We'll start with the sound. It's just plain OK, thats it. The headphones are pretty cheap, so they don't help the sounds depreciating quailty besides. The skip protection is good (25-35sec.) The battery life somewhat good about 15-20, mabey not even that.

...the quality just isn't their. I had it for about 4 months(bought in 5/6/00) after I bought it, it was goofing up on me. When it was bumped or not, it would just turn off. This was very, very annoying because your listening to a song and it quits, you turn it on again, and it quits a minute or two later...The bottom line, DO NOT BUY IT...You'll just waste your money...

Summary: WARNING: THIS PRODUCT SUCKS
Review: It isn't that great, and im not an electronics nerd, i've had the player for a year, and already when you even tap the lid, it skips, during play, it sometimes, just out of nowhere, shuts off. Which means you have to start the song all over again. I'm no electronics nerd, and have no interest in reviews, but I'm just stating my opinion. And the headphones it came with were horrible, and it constantly skips and cannot read disks well at all. It started doing this about 3 or 4 months or so after I had it. Don't buy this.
