Summary: Sony really dissapointed me!
Review: First, the Esp function, I've thought it would be really good, and the thing skips with every cd-r I put on it, even if it doesn't have any scratch (even Sony Cd-r's) and the plastic, it seems cheap and bad quality and the price is too high for what it is, and it is made in Malaysia! I've spected something much better from an such remarkable company as Sony, I remembered the times when they did stuff at Japan, and USA, now even the cd-r media and the batteries are made in Indonesia, if Sony continues manufacturing their electronic devices in those countries they will loose costumers

Summary: cheap materials, terribly inferior hinges broke after 2 hours
Review: I am very disappointd in this expensive ,higher end cd payer. The hinges on the lid are terribly inferior and broke after less than 2 hours of playing time. The store, stereo advantage would not return my money or the purchase allow me to apply the purchase amont toward a different cd player. The store people were rude and uncooperative.Sony customer service rp at the 800 number was more understanding but referred me back to the store and said it was their decision. the store in Buffalo area does big bussiness. They left me with the comment that I might get a new lid after they checked again with sony but thats all.UI showed all my receipts....Im angry

Summary: A really cool product!
Review: I have been using this product for a year. I am very happy with this product. The sound quality is superb. The radio is also very cool. If you use good batteries like Duracell Ultra, you can use your device without any problems (3 weeks). I really like this product, and recommend everyone to buy it!

Summary: Needs to be updated
Review: I have had this discman for a few years. It was great when it came out, but now it's really outdated. It's bulky, and the 20-second anti-skip is pretty poor relative to competitors. You cannot jog with this. It also eats through batteries pretty quick. The rechargables wore out after about a year and had to be replaced. The radio feature has good reception and works well. The price on this is way to high for the level quality available from other cd players.

Review: I love the am/fm tuner with digital display and tuning capabilities. With previous walkmans, I had struggled to tune into the right channel. The digital accuracy makes it a breeze.

The other feature that I now would never live without is the rechargeable battery. I estimate that the charge lasts through 1.5 cds before it needs recharging. Without this feature, battery replacement would not only be costly but bothersome too.

Well worth the investment. I bought mine in 1999 and paid ($$$) for it. I'm planning to buy one for my brother-in-law for XMAS.

Summary: One of the most horrible CD players available
Review: I only had this CD player for two weeks before the headphones shorted out. The radio on this thing is horrible. It has bad reception and the CD player it self didn't have good sound. Thumbs way down for this CD player.

Summary: A great Investment.
Review: I own three music devices. A Rio 500, and two Discmans, one of which is this model. When I want to listen to my own radio stations this is the machine to do it. If you get it don't try to get any stations that aren't very clear on your car's radio. Yet of my 20 presets around 10 come in good. This is also because I have some stations that are from other places that don't come in well on any radio. This Discman has a great Cd-player too and can play burned CDs. Mine seems to play CD-Rs only not CD-RWs. Maybe it'll be different with diferent brand of CDs. The headphones are great depending on what kind you like. I generally use my Rio 500 headphones in it because it has a better quality and can play louder. The remote on the system is great. After about 1 or 2 uses you'll know what all the buttons do. There is also a lock feature on the remote and player itself which allows the buttons to be turned off. The volume still works. The lock can be taken off by flipping the switch. The bass is great. There are two levels: Groove and Megabass. Groove is for all volumes. Megabass is for low-medium volumes or else the sound will be distorted. I also like the rechargeable batteries which can be charged by plugging th included AC adapter in and putting the batteries into the player. There are also play modes. If you are looking for a CD player with a couple of other features this is it.

Summary: I love it!
Review: I think that this cd player is great, I would really recommend it to anyone! All of my friends want to buy one after they listened to it. The AM/FM tuner is really helpful when you are on long car rides and don't have many CDs. I think it has excelent quality sound except if you like the bass up really high and the volume up really high too, then you can't really hear the song playing. It has wonderful sound when you turn off the bass or have the volume down low when it's on. I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't broken, too. I have rarely had it skip ether. Sometimes when you play a burned CD, it will skip until you turn the ESP off, though. The only major problem for me is the cheap headphones. When you have the music up loud you can totaly hear it across the room. In order to play it during school at a comfortable volume without the teachers yelling at you, you have to buy better headphones.
