Summary: =)
Review: =) is the only way i can truly express how i feel about this cd player. It delivers truly amazing sound quality, by far the best i've heard. I've only bought panasonic for CD Players, but getting the D-EJ1000 Was the sweetest thing to ever happen to me. I'm SOLD for sony now.

The CD Player is ULTRA-SLIM. It seriously is smaller than a jewel case (u remember, thoose black things cd's used to come in)
The Remote is probally the most brilliantly thought up. The features are great and easy to use/access. I dont even look at the remote to use it, but when i do, i'm greeted by a nice backlit LCD Screen.
What is also nice is the plethora of features it comes with as well as the warranty (which i do not think i will need). The charger stand just sits on my desk, and the cd player rests on it showing off to the world, taking up no space on my desk.

Overall, this cd player on a scale of 1-10 is an 11. (cliche, i know) but as i said, thats the only way to express how i feel is =)

Summary: Excellent in every detail
Review: Although this portable CD player is somewhat pricey, it delivers great performance and has been very cleverly designed. Even through the included headphones, which aren't all that de luxe, the sound is pretty darn good. Add a little bass by pressing a button on the inline remote and you enrich the sound a great deal. Speaking of which, the basic control buttons are located on the (extremely thin) unit itself, but you'll get so used to the remote, with its elegant design and ease of operation, that you'll need to touch the player itself only to change CDs and recharge the batteries. I especially like the metal lid and the space-saving charger, in which the player can sit and get its batteries juiced while looking like a work of art on your desk. Oh, and the charge lasts forever: enough to play at least 10 CDs in a row without stopping. In short, you get what you pay for--and in the case of this nifty Sony, that means a wicked little silver platter spinner.

Summary: If You Can Afford It
Review: This CD player is ridiculously overpriced. It has some amazing features, but still, it is at a price that is a bit over the edge. After I bought it, I was asked multiple times why I didn't purchase an MP3 player instead. 'I have all my good songs on CDs, and that is the way I prefer to listen to them,' I said.

I hate buying and replacing batteries, and they too, are overpriced. I never got in to the habit of purshasing rechargable batteries, and this is why the rechargability feature had appealed to me. A great player, but make sure it's within your budget, or you may regret it.

Summary: Problem with NiCad Rechargeables
Review: This isn't exactly a review since I haven't purchased one of these; but I probably would if it weren't for one thing: this unit comes with Nickel-Cadmium Rechargeable batteries rather than Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh). The difference is that NiCad batteries have less capacity, are much less environmentally-friendly, and worst of all tend to develop a "memory" for the the last place they were discharged down to, so that the next time you use them they will only discharge again down to this level, resulting in even less capacity. The commonly recommended antidote to this is to make sure the batteries are fully discharged before you charge them back up again, but this is highly inconvenient. Its hard to understand why Sony did not choose to provide this unit instead with Nickel Metal Hydride Rechargeables.
