Summary: Great, but not as good as my iPod
Review: I had the first CD player since Christmas 1998. My dad bought me the first CD player. Right now I owned a total of 3 portable CD players. Now days I decided to donate all of my portable CD players to the Salvation Army or Goodwill, because I already have iPod and the MP3 players, also the MP3 players are new, it also display the song title and the artist name while playing the current song. The CD players are getting old right now. YOU SHOULD SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY THE iPOD, so don't waste your money on this. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: Look is cool, performance is cruel!
Review: Very disappointing purchase, would not expect this from a great brand like Sony. After 4 songs, the CD-R starts skipping. I returned the CD player after 4 days of use. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: A little flawed...
Review: I bought a red PSYCH model for my sister, and 2 months after, a blue one for myself. It worked fine, no skipping, or whatever, but now (4 months after), the cd player tends to skip when I'm walking, or in a lot of cases, it just stops playing music alltogether. Now this is very annoying. The machine has suffered NO physical damages (falls, punches due to frustration, etc), and it repeatedly stops playing. I am forced to press stop, and press play again to resume playing music. Furthermore, even my sister's CD Player stops playing randomly, so it's not a freak problem thats only applicable to my CD player.

Other then that BIG problem, there are no other troubles. I had an excellent Sony CD Player that I bought 2 years ago (don't recall the model, but it cost me $80, and was circular), that survived tons of beatings, and innumerable throws at a wall, and it stll played flawlessly (Until I smashed it on concret due to a scratched cd not playing properly)

This Psych model is flawed, from my experience, but for $50, it's not all that bad. I suggest paying an extra $30 and getting a more superior Sony model, because everyone and their grandmother is using the Psych models now, and more expensive models are sure not to have the problems that mine does. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: I love this!
Review: Its light. Its sturdy. I dropped it and it took a big fall and its just fine. You can lay down in your bed and listen to music and it the earpieces won't even hurt your ears like it does on some compact disc players. It may be due to the different design of the included earset. It hooks under your chin instead of going over your head. If you try to put it on over your forehead it won't fit unless you have a very tiny, tiny head. Its supposed to hook under the chin.. I was a little disturbed by this feature until i realized it is good to laying down and listening to music.. no sore ears, ta da!

Other than that... this player can play very loudly. I can take off the headphones and sit it down and turn it up to its highest volume and hear it from the headphones as if i was listening to a radio set on its lowest volume. You can totally block out the world if you want to with this thing because you can't hear a darn thing except for your music when you use it! Its BRILLIANT.

The buttons on it are iridescent and pearly teally blue.. a very attractive exterior lends to an interior that will keep your batteries for as long as it is possible to keep batteries. Compared to my last disc player the batteries I put in this NEW, wonderful player last for a long, long, long time. And thats with rough usage.

My only real complaints about this are
* it is really pricey. If i ever lose this thing I'm going to be really upset.
* the buttons for play and pause and skip and such are not very well shaped - you have to press down deep into the grooves. I just think the buttons could have been better made on it.
* the headphones that hook under while having the advantage of not making your ears sore do tend to fall off from under your chin or be easily pulled off if you are doing some other kind of activity while listening to the music.

Now... it doesn't play CDs that I've burned for myself very well. At least not as well as it plays store bought CDs.. but it does play them. I don't know if I bought some faulty blank CDs or its just that this player finds home-burned CDs hard to read.

All in all, I really love this player. It gets a high rating!

Summary: CD player
Review: I would have given this cd player 0 stars if there was that choice. This cd player is horrible. It says that it plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs but not really. When i first took it out of its box, I put some batteries in it and put in a rewritable cd, but it didnt play it at all. So I thought okay there must be something wrong with the cd, but the cd was fine. Next I tried to put in a CD-R and it only played about the first 12 songs correctly, and even then I thought it skipped a lot for a cd player that is supposed to be no-skip. Anyway, in the last 5 or 6 songs on the cd, even when it was sitting on a desk not being shaken at all, it would skip about 5 times a second, and each time it skipped it would stop playing for about a second. So to get through the first 5 seconds of the song it took about 20 seconds, with consistent skipping through the whole thing. This cd player is the worst thing I have ever spent $50 on. Hope this convinces you not to buy this player. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: Best ever! Buy it!
Review: I got this for a birthday present, and I actually picked it over an MP3 player. I'm glad I did, too, because the one I had before it, was total and utter crap. I have had nothing but great times with this CD Player. I like the way SONY does the memory thing, where it remembers the where you were in the song. I have loved this ever since I got it. I really do reccomend it. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: Awesome.... at first
Review: When I first got this CD Player I thought it was great. Great sound, didn't skip etc. But after about a month, it just randomly stopped working. It still plays CDs, but none of the buttons work on the CD player, and it isn't on Hold. I've tried everything. Though judging the rest of the reviews, I might have just gotten a bad model. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: I Love It!
Review: I was looking for a CD player with style, sound, and at a low price. After nearly a year with a Sony D-CJ500, it started to get worn out. I was looking for another MP3 CD Walkman, but I had heard that the sound isn't as great one MP3 CD Walkmans as on a normal one like this. After borrowing some of my friends' D-EJ360s, I decided to buy one for myself. Now to the review. Sure the buttons are little bit small, but they are better because they don't get pushed as easily in a pocket so play won't accidentally start or stop even without hold on. The hold switch is in an unusual place. It is on the bottom of the unit. Sony finally brought the pause button back. You can also, like most other Sony players, turn the beep noise heard off by holding stop while putting the batteries in. The bookmark function is a little confusing at first, but it gets easier every time you use it ( I say this because there is more to it than the instructions explain). To use the repeat mode, you have to hold the P.MODE button for 2 seconds, and then it will come up (I have no idea why they did it like that). The sound is great on SOUND level 2 until you get up to 8 and the 2nd divider (each whole number is divided into 3 parts) because it starts to get distorted. The PSYC tag is made out of rubber and is annoying at first because it sticks to things, but you can leave it off if you don't like it on. It plays CD-R/RW perfectly. I have been using Ever-active batteries and it seems like it lasts longer than 40 hours. This Walkman is most likely the best buy for quality in this price range. The G-PROTECTION is awesome. I have yet to hear it skip (when I am not at the beginning of a song trying to make it skip). Be sure to leave the G-PRO on because the batteries last longer with it on than with it off. Don't let other reviews tell you things like "It broke after 2 weeks" because they DO NOT. All of the features are State-Of-The-Art. It is truly the best. GO BUY IT! IT'S WORTH IT! I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND ANY COLOR! --This text refers to an alternate option.
