Summary: Great choice for those who don't want a mp3 player
Review: I bought this cd player from amazon nearly a year ago, and it's perfect!!! sleek design, deep bass (maybe a bit too much for me though..but lots of people out there fancy that), the remote is very easy to use, the skip protection is exellent and unlike some other people who wrote reviews about this cd player mine reads both cd r/rw's fine .Just remember to get new headphones after you buy it!!

Summary: Terrible as most sony products
Review: I bought this Sony D-ej200 in Japan and realy disappointed about Sony and knew they were not much different from Japanere products. Looks beautiful but they really stinks.

Playing normal CDs is OK but whenever I try to play my CD that I burned with mp3 file in it . It often stops. I thought it had smoenthing to do with my CDs so I burned it again but I got the some results.

Even though in menual it say you can play CD/RW format, but in fact it' impossible to play CD/RW format.

The remote controller has broken after using just a few days. It such a piece of crap. Even if I Push and Sound mode button is . they do not go up so I cannot change the sound type any more.

Plus the warrenty is not valid in my country. You might not want to buy electrnoic gagets in foregin country even if they are cheap.

Don't buy this product.

Summary: the best portable cd player so far in the market
Review: I have used many different brands/models of portable CD players, about 10 top models of Sony, Panasonic, and Philips in the last two years. This is far the best one ever, unbelievably light, and works extremely well. I recommend this highly to anyone looking for a new portable CD player. If there are anything to complain about, it is the headphone that comes with it - but Sony's CD walkmans all come with terrible headphones, and that's that. Just get yourself a decent headphone and you will not have any regrets.

Summary: Don't let the size fool you
Review: I just got this CD player the other day. When I picked it up I was astounded by it's weight. This really is the smallest, lightest player in the world. It's body is made of magnesium, so it's diecast, but it's light weight makes it feel easily breakable, not that I've tried...

But, sleek design means nothing if the sound quality is lacking. I was surprised when I turned it on. It's as powerful as the outdated CD player I had before. In fact, the sound is clearer, and the bass is incredible. I tried shaking it every which way and it wouldn't skip either. It has two modes of G-protection, so if one isn't working, two is the ultimate, but the higher the level, the more battery power it drains.

It came with one rechargable battery, and it's thin and rectangular, so you can't use regular AA rechargables. It took five hours to charge that thing, at least, and it does a good job of holding out according to the specs - at least 20 hours. Of course, you can still use a AA battery as long as you attach it with the included external device. The problem is it would dangle off in some direction unless you use the carry pouch. In most cases, if you don't listen to music 24/7 you wouldn't even need to buy an external battery - just remember to charge before you go to sleep.

One small gripe I have about it is that not all the controls on the remote are duplicated on the CD player. You can use it without the remote, if you don't care about displays when you're listening, and if you don't mind not being able to control the bass, or program tracks. Also, the supplied headphones aren't that good, but there are better ones out there and they don't carry a hefty price tag.

I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could, for some minor things, but all in all, this is the most fantastic CD player, taking into consideration how small they've been able to make it. If you're itching to buy something really cool and relatively inexpensive, and you don't mind not having MP3-disc-playing capabilities, then this is a great choice. I already fell in love with it.

Summary: The best of the bests
Review: Sony ever made the best cd-players and this is simply the best of the bests.

Summary: Sleek Design, problematic the rest
Review: Sound is not impressive, probably it requires better acoustic headphones. Design and remote are the best part out of it.
Overall quality is questionable, this is the second unit that won't charge the batteries after 3-4 charges (it lights up after pressing stop/charge then light goes out) and batteries are empty.

Summary: Fine while it worked
Review: The overall sound quality was good if:
- you use it with some decent headphones (those supplied are garbage)
- keep the "bass-enhancement" (a pointless waste of electronics) switched off

However, the unit packed up after a few months moderate use. It was eventually replaced by Sony after ALOT of hassle.

Summary: Hip hop
Review: This is a tight cd player, but the only thing that is missing is the heavy bass sound. If you listen to rap music you want that heavy bass but I still recommend this cd player to anybody, its one of the best cd players that I own. If you want cd player that got a heavy bass go copp the Sony DSJ15 Portable CD Walkman.

Review: This is the best CD player I've ever listened to.
I've tried every iRiver, RioVolt , etc..and this is the best!
I usually listen to jazz and some rock and this guy rocks! Smooth bass and at the meantime it's fast, middles are distinguish and bright, highs are crispy and not annoying. You can listen to music for hours without getting tired which is the hi-fi attribute of quality. It's definitely not a MP3 player and it shouldn't be! If you really want a hi-end sound it's always on CD's , not in MP3 disks. I've got an MP3 Player too.
It's Sony D-CJ01(with remote $40 on ebay.com) which is a winner for MP3's on disks.
I think everyone who is about to buy the similar product (Sony D-EJ2000)has to realize what he or she is going for. If you need a perfect sound, then this CD Player is exactly what you need.
Highly recommended with a new pair of headphones!
