Summary: Excellent!
Review: I ditched my RioVolt because of the 40-second anti-skip that wasn't nearly enough for my active lifestyle. ^_^ This CD player is great, including the so-called 'flimsy' headphones that put out incredible sound for ANY headphones. I've been using it for about 6 hours straight and my rechargable batteries are still full! All I can say is... wow. SONY hasn't let me down yet! The ONLY bad thing about this is the placement of the volume knob. I think they should've stuck with the digital volume (1-9 ||| for those who remember...). Other than that, its perfect!!!

Summary: Great CD Player
Review: I have gone through 3 portable cd players in the past few years, dropping one down the stairs, the volume knobs fell off another and the 3rd just decided to stop working. Then I bought this one, it is great, so much better than any of the other ones I have owned. I go to the gym daily and run with this cd player on my hand, it's convient and tough and it has NEVER skipped. I can't say enough good things about this cd player, it's definitely worth the extra money!

Summary: Doesn't skip when jogging
Review: I like the handle and this puppy doesn't skip. I tend to treat my players like my boys would treat their things--roughly. And it has held up. I did have to take the first one I received back to the store as it was a lemon but the second one was fine. It has a warranty. I have a bit of trouble getting it to change from one song to another but otherwise this one is the best that I have found. And like I said it takes the licks and doesn't skip.

Summary: a few flaws
Review: I purchased this sony after having a jvc Portable. This put the JVC to shame. As far as battery consuption it is much more effective a conserving batteries, also this product comes with G-shock anti skip protection, this is why I couldn't give it five stars. Not becaust the g-shock is bad, it is much better in fact than the 40 protection of the conventional protable cd players but sony doesn't explain that on the package that is why I waited a little while before purchasing. I didn't want to get stuck with the same quality product........The other flaw with this product is the earphones..... when will manufacturers start putting in decent headphones with portables! Overall though it is a good product but you will have to spend 20 to 30 dollars more and purchase good earphones, as with all cd players!!!!!

Summary: This Cd Player ROCKS
Review: I swear to god this cd player never skips. I bought a very cheap cd player from someone and all it did was skip, you could throw this cd player against the wall and it would not skip, and better yet the batteries last a super long time with my old cd player I had to change batteries ever two days.

Summary: Sony Cd walkman S2
Review: I think this cd player is the best because it is built tough. I have dropped my S2 about 5 times and it still works. It is all around a great gadget.

Summary: Best I've found so far
Review: I use this player when I work out at my gym, and it has performed like a rock star. The sound is great. It hasn't skipped yet. I really like the ear plug headphones. All that and the fact that you can use the player and included adaptor to charge nickel metal-hydride rechargeable batteries makes this player very worth it's approximate $... cost. My one complaint is one that would also apply to many other portable players (but especially this one since it's designed to be a sports player). It really needs to have some kind of belt clip to hang the player on the waist. The hand strap is great but becomes inconvenient when you want to work with weights or machines.

Summary: This Must Be a Dream
Review: I went through about five cd players before purchasing this one .... Each lasted between one to three months...all were dissapointing in a variety of ways. This is SIMPLY the best for rugged, skip free, reliable play and excellent sound. A MUST for athletic on the move types. Stands up to any activity. Even survived my two year old slamming it on the sidewalk ....Nothing bad to say about this one.

Summary: Mine was a lemon
Review: I wish I could give this player a great rating but, in fact, I have very little I can go on for the rating except that mine was defective straight out of the package. Thus, I can't go on about sound quality or other features. It felt sturdy. The controls seemed easy to operate. It just didn't play. The CD would cycle but that was the extent of its performance. I had no trouble getting through to Sony on the phone (always a plus)and after a brief discussion they agreed that it was a malfunctioning unit. I have several Sony items and this is the first time I've gotten a lemon. Based on prior experience, I won't hesitate to buy Sony again but this time I am going to select a different Walkman CD player (the next "grade" up.)

Summary: Great
Review: I would have liked to give it a full 5 stars - based on the insane sound quality alone. But mine broke down once - it was within the 90-day grace period from Target - so I went and bought a Panasonic. It sucked, so I went back and bought this one again. It hasn't given me problems since.

Many would find the thumb control unconventional and it would be horrid if you were left-handed. But I really liked it - I own another Sony CD walkman - which lacks this and I hate jogging with it. This one NEVER skips. The battery life is amazing - the batteries go on and on. It has a built-in charger which works great for me since I use re-chargarble batteries. I use it everyday and I can't think of myself without it.

Another reason for the 4 stars is that when I spend nearly a $100 on a CD player - I expect them to be responsible enough to give me a decent pair of headphones. I wasn't expecting Bose noise-cancellation headphones - just a decent set. While the one they bundled has good sound quality - it is both flimsy and totally uncomfortable - which made me spend another $20 on Sony street-style headphones.

In the end, I would highly recommend this product. It is well worth the steep price if you are looking for something rugged and great.
