Summary: Quality and function is exceptional.
Review: Because many bible scholars have gone to MP3 on CD's, I purchased this unit to play the extensive libraries available in this new(to me)format. Remarkable! Coupled to a Sony SRS-T77 travel speaker (I don't like ear-buds), this unit is perfect for my uses. I did have some problems initially, but traced them to a smudged CD. I sent back a "boom-box" style player due to it's inability to "resume" from a stopped point anywhere within a lesson. Took a little practice with that tiny remote, but it will do. Even purchased another! Happy camper!

Summary: Bad right out of the box
Review: Recieved the unit two days ago. It really looks good. All of the parts and the manual were included with the unit. Sounds great ... Then the problem started. I tried to use it! I must have changed the position of the battries and hold switch(s) 10 times. I could not get the drawn thing to power-up. I tried the AAA bateries and still nothing. Then to add insult to injury, I called, left several messages and emailed iRiver ... I am still waiting for a response. I realize that my problem is out of the box and that the unit may well be OK. But, I decided to send it back to Amazon and get another unit. Because of the way Amazon has handled this matter I will certaily buy my new MP3/CD player from them.

Summary: Good..WHEN IT WORKS....
Review: Wonderful player when it works...can use entirely from small remote. The cords become annoying since there are so many and they are long but I stuff them in my bag and walk on. That is until it goes haywire. The HOLD BUTTON FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED and couldn't be fixed by upgrades. I had to pop battery out to reset it. Suddnely the volume went louder and louder on a song switch and none of the buttons would work. Had to pop out a battery and reset it again...Got a replacement from Amazon.com...It worked well until I realized this player had the hold button malfunction too and right after that THE LCD SCREEN ON THE REMOTE BLEW OUT! The screen was totally black. This happened 3 days after I received it. I am now going back to iRiver to get a replacement from THEM...

Summary: does not work
Review: I've tried two units and neither one worked for more than a week. On one unit one of the earphones broke, too. Very frustrating.

Summary: Great Product, Great Deal, Great Value
Review: This ia a great CD player and so much more. It does it all and it does it all well. It's compact, durable, great sound, and the company really provides firmware upgrades on a regular basis and makes it better.

The only one to by in my book.

Summary: THE BEST
Review: This Mp3/CD player is the best ever there are so many features for such a lightweight machiene.I suggest that you buy an outlet adapter this lets you listen to the CD player with no batteries for as long as you like. I bought one of these and it is a lot better then charging and recharging the batteries. A little tip; I bought mine as an open box item at Best Buy so look around and maybe you can find the same thing for a lot less just because some kid opened it just a little in the store and I still get the mail-in rebate so look around maybe you can find a great deal.
I suggest as soon as you can go out and buy this awesome MP3/CD Player!

Summary: a few issues you must aware before you buy
Review: Overall this player is not that bad, but here is a few concerns you may be interested before you buy:

1. does not support CHINESE language, eventhough sometimes it is able to display the names of chinese songs. There are two type of players, as a matter of fact. Type 1 is sold in the USA, type 2 is in HK (this one support chinese). However, all the ads in the US does not mention this. Therefore, it is not a good choice for people who want to listen chinese music.

2. the remote is very small. Not convinent to use.

3. No display screen on the player. You only can use the remote.

4. the AC adapter is only 110V input.

5. the bag is very very ugly. It looks like a cigrt. bag which is used usually by old people.

6. startup is pretty slow and a little bit too noisy.

7. the FM radio is not bad.

Summary: Comprehensive, avant-garde, and thoughtful
Review: I just received the SlimX iMP 350... I had read multitudes of posts regarding this product from more than 10 sources...the SLimX did not playback 50+ hours, it's ability to hold file formats such as mp3s, wmvs etc, was impressive. I could only get around 40 songs (SP2 format) into a minidisc. With the SLimX, it's at least 4 to 5 times this number, depending on format. The package is complete... The earphones are stodgy, yes. But those are easily replaceable....For the general public however, the font is NOT too small, follow instructions to extend your battery life (a firmware upgrade claims to extend it as well), the CDs DO play. I believe the lag time comes from the SlimX sorting files in chronological order; it retains ALL its capability to playback.

The SlimX won quite a few product awards; the one that comes to mind was awarded by PC Magazine a few months ago. The quality of the product parallels the sheer amount of goods that come with it. I've done plenty of research, and feel that the SlimX is indeed worthwhile. Kudos to iRiver...

Summary: Awesome Product ...
Review: This MP3/CD player is soo much better than previous Rio Products I havee owned. First of ALL the iRiver SlimX really lives up it's name.. it's at least half th siz of a normal CD player. The controls are on the side for easy use instead of on the stop. NO SKIPS whatso ever. The Remote comes with tons more features than RioVolt Products. The only problem with this package is the headphones. One side is longer than the other. iRiver says this is so 2 people can listen to it IE on a plane. I recommend going to there website and buying the iRiver Wraparound Headphones for with this. Altogether if there was moe than 5 stras I'd give this product ALOT MORE THAN 5 Stars!!

Summary: Excellent product
Review: I'm very happy with the iRiver iMP-350. It has more features and options than you could ever possibly want, and it's performance is top-notch. Just read through the feature list if you want to know all the "pros" for this little baby. I'd like to address some of the "cons" I've seen mentioned in other reviews:

- Poor quality earbuds: I think they are just fine. I've compared their sound quality to a set of Panasonic and Sony headphones, and found them to be just as good or better (just my opinion, of course). And if you're that picky about earbuds, then you probably already own a favorite pair you'll want to use anyway.
- Errors/skipping: I noticed this too when I first tested the thing using an old CDRW that I'd been carrying around for years. I then burned my WMA's onto a fresh new CDR and have had no problems whatsoever.
- No display on the player: Why would you need it? It's all on the remote.
- Takes a while to start playing: When you first start the thing it's got to go through your whole CD and catalog the songs then buffer the first 8 minutes into memory. So it takes, like, maybe 10-15 seconds. Patience is a virtue - just chill-out and relax, already. Geez.
- Poor user manual: Dude, you read the manual for these things? You're kidding, right?
- Fairly useless "carrying case": What other products of this sort come with a useful carrying case? I thought so.

In summary, this player is really cool. It works just as advertised and is a great bargain for the price, too. Good luck finding a better CD mp3/wma player for ANY price.

I highly recommend it.
