Summary: Worth every penny!!!
Review: Excellent features at a great price!! This player is slim and lightweight and includes a rechargeable battery. The remote seems complicated at first, but after a look at the manual and some trial and error it becomes very user-friendly. I have not experienced one problem with the IRiver player...if you are shopping around this one may just be for you!!

Summary: Excellent CD/MP3 player
Review: I bought this player on the recommendation of people on this website as well as other websites. The fact that now I can burn a CD-RW with MP3's on it and still play the regular music CD's is a plus, although I rarely play CD's now.

The remote control is great, although it's a little clumsy with the wires sticking out of both ends of the remote. It's definitely better than lugging a whole player out of your bag.

The unit itself is great. It's so small, hardly bigger than a CD case. The controls are a little hard to see, but they are all there to play your songs on the CD. It even lets you lock the unit controls separately from the remote, so you can toss it in your bag and forget it. Very nice feature.

As for the headphones that ship with this unit. They leave a lot to be desired. They don't really deliver rich sound like I thought they would. I ended up using my old Sony "around the back" headphones which produce a much better frequency range. Even with the built-in equalizer, better headphones make for better sound.

The rechargable batteries also leave a little more to be desired. I can get about 10-12 hours of playtime before I have to recharge them, but the "Discharge and Charge" function make the batteries last so much longer.

Overall, this is one of the best purchases in audio I have made in a long time, and I fully recommend this player to anyone wanting the MP3 and CD capabilities in one unit.

Summary: Worth the money
Review: The picture amazon gives doesn't really show you how outstanding this CD player is. Once you hold it in your hand, you realize just how incredible it is. It can pratically play any type of audio and I just upgraded my firmware, giving me an extra hour of battery power now. If you do buy this, consider charging and discharing the battery a couple times once you get it. This brings the battery up to life, giving you more regular life. The CD player weighs pratically nothing and can fit in your pocket and it feels like a wallet. The supplies headphones aren't all that great; I strongly suggest buying a seperate pair. The remote control has got to be the best part of the player. It's like a little mini-computer the size of your finger. And people complain about the font soze, but I don't see what the problem is. I can read the remote from a foot to two feet away and that's usually the distance you hold it from your eyes, right? In all, this CD player is worth your money and you really are getting what you pay for, even more.

Summary: Great Product
Review: Everyone, this is an amazing CD player. It can do everything, and yet is still low priced. it is also extremely thin (0.6 in). the player is mp3-cd compatible, meaning you can put a of your 200+ songs on ONE cd and the quality is still great. it also includes a FM radio with 20 presets. it comes with ulta-thin rechargable batteries, and dn't worry, you don't ned to go out and buy a $40 charger, because the cd player charges them itself! if you run out of battery, and you can't get to an outlet, you can always use the external AAbatttery drive. although kind of flimsy, it still works well. the ear phones for this cd player are buds, an for free buds, they're good you can't expect the company tothrow in a pair of amazing headphones, but these are good for free. one of the best pats of the cd player is the remote. i don't even touch the player anymore excpet when changing cd's. the remote shows you all the tracks in the cd as well as the song playing. some people say that thebuttons are hard to use but i can see them and use them perfectly. you can also use your WINAMP playlists so you can listen to just onme band at a time. overall this is a great player. Also, althoug many people have been critizing the manuel, i find it suetable for all of my needs. i think it is very resourceful. If you want to see a copy of the manuel you can go to iriver.com and take a look for yourself. te ONLY bad thingin this cd player is the pathetic carying case. its basically a velvit bag. i guess it successfully "holds" the cd player, but its weak. this is a greart cd player and is also not very expensive. compared to the SlimX 400, they are very similar besides the remote. oh ya, there is also an $80 price difference. i highly recomend this player. it is definitely the best one on the market!

Summary: Nice but FRAGILE
Review: So it's been 4 months after I bought it and my unit has already decided to become problematic. The stereo output has stopped and now my listening pleasure is restricted to my left ear. I'm NOT amused. The cover on the player is flimsy (I discovered that as soon as I took it out of the box) so I've been extra careful with this player. On top of everything the sound quality is no more than fair- the RioVolt 250 gives far better sound output despite them having virtually identical software. This is not a recommended CD player if you're a House music fan.

Summary: Great-Worth the extra $$$
Review: There are a whole bunch of MP3/CD players on the market today. You can probably find one for $.... However this one is really worth the extra money.

You can customize nearly every feature imaginable on the device. It supports multiple languages and it also has an FM radio.

The battery life is supurb. I normally get around 6-10 hours on a full charge (depending on how loud I'm playing it on my headphones) and if you plug it the extra battery kit you can probably hit a 20 hour battery life (the website says 24 hours).

This thing is also quite stylish and after a small learning curve very comfortable to use. I personally wouldn't reccomend upgrading to the 400. It seems the only difference is a slightly (and I mean slightly) smaller design. If you can get the 350 at under $...I would go for it.

Summary: Excellent product.
Review: The specifications are all listed on the amazon site so i won't repeat them. I normally don't write reviews but for this product I am compelled to make a exception. Why, you might ask. Simply put, this is the best product I own right now period. Out of all my electronics, hardware, software, and anything else you can think of I feel that my iRiver SlimX iMP-350 CD/MP3 Player is a flawless piece of work from a superb company. To start off the Slimx is...... well..... slim. That is to say it's small, good looking, relatively lightweight, and strong. This player survives in my backpack which often is smashed into my trunk, thrown on the floor, kicked at, trampled on, dropped, etc. I've dropped my SlimX player at least a dozen times from a height greater than 3 feet. Does that damage it??? NOPE, not at all it just keeps on doing what it does best. The battery life is great especially if you listen to MP3 cd's and when you run dead you can plug in the external pack until you have a chance to charge it. The SlimX also comes with a great FM radio tuner in the remote. Ahhhh.... the remote. What a great piece of engineering. The remote is like no other remote out there right now (except for the new iRiver remote) This remote DOES take a little bit of getting used to. This is because every button does more than one thing. This allows the very acceptable display to take up more area. The Backlighting is good, menus easy to deal with, TONS of options if you want them, language choices, ability to sync lyrics with special software and customization of the startup screen. IT WILL SEEM LIKE TOO MUCH AT THE BEGINNING BUT IF YOU STICK WITH IT IT WILL BECOME THE MOST VERSATILE, POWERFUL CD PLAYER YOU HAVE EVER USED. Now on to the company. I have only one thing to say. This company will go far if they deal with all of their customers the way they dealt with me. Here is my experience: The earbuds that came with my SlimX were good earbuds and i used them. (There are better headphones out there but these are quite good considering they ship with the unit) Anyway, when i got new headphones i gave the iRiver ones to my dad because he needed some earbuds. He really liked them and used them every day. Then the foam covering came off the buds, making them unusable. I contacted iRiver asking them if they'd send me some. They sent me new earbuds by first day air. WOW.... talk about pleasing the customer. It's not even that it's that big a deal. I actually expected them to not respond or just say they couldn't do it. But they did MORE than i expected. More than they needed to do..... QUICKLY. I may sound like a iRiver poster boy.... and i guess i am. I would recomend the iRiver to any person who wants the best, most powerful portable cd-player out there. Yes, it will take 15 minutes longer to understand the controls, and yes it may be from a new company but it's the real deal. Stop reading reviews and buy it.

Summary: music that plays on
Review: I bought this player over a month ago and I've been listening to it constantly. When I first got it, I tested it by listening to a cd and shaking the player.. hitting the player.. just any way I could think that would normally make a cd player skip. It never skipped. Then I walked home with it and for some unexplainable reason, it skipped. It wasn't a normal skip where you still hear the music in a distorted way, but just stopped. I didn't bump it, shake it or anything and it did that. 10 seconds later it started again. The batteries were fine because I had just charged them up. I had both the cd player and the little remote set to "lock" so that nothing could interfere with the playing. This has repeated itself a few times while just walking. But it doesn't happen so often that I would return it. If you do buy this player, make sure to buy a set of headphones. The one provided come out of my ear (earbuds), but that could simply be because of my own ears... who knows. :)

Summary: Dope CD Player.
Review: The I-River Slim X is amazing! The CD player delivers everything it promises. There are tons of functions and additions that cause the CD player to function more like a computer. There are learning functions, random playing functions, sleeper functions, and a toolbox to control all CD player outputs. The Winamp playlist function is tight. The only disadvantage I have found is that batteries are not consistent, i.e. may only run for four to five hours instead of the projected six. This minor problem is tolerable relative to all the bonuses the CD player has to offer.
