Summary: No problems at all
Review: I think this printer is excellent. The picture quality is almost as good as a traditional photo. I've never had any problems with jamming. The 4X6 tray is a dream. You put the flash card in the slot, hit a button and out comes a picture. My only complaint is that this is an extremely slow printer... especially when printing documents. So I have 2 printers and use this one exclusively for photo printing.

Summary: READ THIS FIRST B4 U BUY
Review: I'm a canon guy, but a few months ago, i decided to give hp a try and purchased this printer. Well...all i have to say is it is average, nothing is outstanding about this printer and the photo quality is just OK. If you really want to buy a photo printer, look at canon i950, s900, or s800. The resolution of these printers are unbelievable and the picture quality is outstanding, you can't get any printjet better than these. One more thing, the i950 and the s900 both have 6 separate colors tanks so you don't have to replace the whole thing when one color runs out, and they also have a replacable printhead.

Summary: Reliable, with dazzling results from digital photos.
Review: Photo printers can be tricky. Drivers can be complicated to install, paper can jam, the software is complex. I have had none of these problems with this printer. The 1315 produces dazzling prints of my digital photos, whether from my Nikon D-100 or scanned photos. When printing from Adobe Photoshop Elements, I can produce, with this printer, photos that are indistinguishable from commercial prints when using high quality photo paper. We have used this printer to print photos for framing, wallet prints, etc., as well as custom greeting cards, invitations, you name it. This printer is a real workhorse.The on-board LCD is nice, and the CF reader is functional, although it appears to be slower to transfer data than either my Microtech reader or my Sandisk reader, for CF cards (I may have been doing something wrong.) With CF card readers pricing under $20, this is not a major issue, however. The printer is very quiet. Speed is fine for my needs, although there are faster ones out there, mostly for more money. I would recommend this printer to any photo enthusiast.

Summary: Photolab quality printer!
Review: This is one amazing printer! After reading reviews here and all over the net for over 2 months, I've decided that THIS printer is the one that will do the job right for me. And I'm glad I picked this one - no regrets, so far. First off, I don't have a PC at home (for now, but I do have one at work) so I needed a printer that could print photos DIRECTLY from flash cards (from my digital camera). I compared it with the Epson 785EPX, Canon S820D and the Kodak Picture maker printers (all have flash card capabilities) and this one clearly is the one the I need. The Epson 785EPX needs an adapter for EVERY different type of card (CF, Smartmedia, memory stick) that is loaded in it, and the Canon S820D also needs an adapter for any/all flash cards, but the HP 1315 has a card slot for just about every flash card on the market (no adapters needed), so this one is clearly the winner. I also wanted an LCD screen so I can view my photos as soon as I insert my flash card (CF card for now) and the 1315 has this one, and it's a 2.5 screen! The Canon S820D's LCD screen is an optional item for $99 if you want one, so this one is clearly the winner, too. Next, I needed a printer that is fairly fast when it comes to photo printing, and this one (according to reviews) is the fastest one out of the others in its class. Next is, of course, the print QUALITY of the photos. Well, after reading many reviews, it seems that everyone has a different opinion in all the top 3 photo printers that I've considered, and since this one already has an EXCELLENT quality, I just went ahead and picked this one. Trust me, after seeing the photo quality of this printer from a 4MP camera you wouldn't think twice of purchasing this one. It really is close to perfection. The only negative thing I could think of with this printer is that it doesn't have the 6-color separate cartridges that the Canon S820D offers. This means that when one of the 3 colors in the cartridge runs out, you will have to replace the whole cartridge, as opposed to just replacing one COLOR that runs out in the 6-color cartridges like the Canon S820D has. Still, I don't think it's that much of a difference since the Canon S820D's color cartridge cost is about $12 for ONE color cartridge, while the HP 1315's cost is $35 for the 3-color cartridge. You decide. At any rate, I still highly recommend this to anyone who wants excellent prints from their digital cameras!

Summary: Outstanding Photo Printer
Review: This printer without a doubt is fantastic!! I was printing out excellent pictures in all sizes ( and it is best to use photo paper)without a problem at all. The colors are vivid and accurate. It is so easy to crop and set up the pictures. If you set the page size correctly you won't have papers jambing and with the ease of placing either a Sony Memory stick or compact flash card right into the side of the printer, it makes it much quicker to upload pictures you have taken. It works so well with the USB port so you can hook up 2 printers (locally) and use this one for pictures or very important papers (ie reports, or shower invites etc) I have not had a stuck paper yet. It printed out a nice T-Shirt transfer for me of my one-year and his grandmas both loved it. This is an outstanding printer and I have talked my principal into getting one for my classroom so as I can take pictures of the students working and be able to get pictures back to them by the end of the day. I have also used the 1115 and the 1215 from HP and had the same results as my 1315. It isvery much worth the $$ you pay for it.

Summary: Slow but steady
Review: Very solid, well built printer. Installs in a snap. Prints great pictures on glossy photo paper; I can't see why anyone would be unhappy with this printer. All printers require some sort of gamma correction to get the best prints; this one is no exception. Setting up the driver is a little complicated for the less technical, but once all the calibrations are done (takes a couple of minutes) you get great results. I can only guess that some of the less complementary reviews were probably because things weren't calibrated right (even the paper tray needs calibrated, but it's not difficult). It allows access to memory cards as if they were drives on your computer. Pretty slick, and quite a deal at today's lower prices. I looked at a 7550 before I bought this, and it seemed very cheaply built in comparison. The output of this printer is outstanding, very comparable to the 7550 (even with only 4 ink colors).
