Summary: WHAT I EXPECTED
Review: I find the Canon i850 to be just what I expected. Easy set up, good, but not great, text printing, and excellent photo printing. The only draw back is the lack of a USB cable, but I was able to use the one that came with my old Epson printer so that wasn't a problem for me personally. If you're looking for a printer that's geared toward photo printing, this is a good buy.

Summary: Good printer
Review: This is a very good color printer happens to print good photos. If you want to own a good printer and print some color photos, this is it. I've printed the same picture to compare with the ones that I've got from different photo labs and I was surprised to see that colors from this printer were much better and closer to true colors. I am no professional photographer so the quality of the photos were good enough for me. The printer speed for 4X6 is very good. The text printed with black black ink is not as sharp as laser printer's which I am used to. I could almost see the little dots.

The printer itself is very unpretentious, no LCD display or fancy additions but setup and software installation were very easy thanks to clear instructions.

Overall I am happy with this Canon which is my first non-HP printer.

Summary: Canon i850 photo is not a photo printer.
Review: I have a Canon S750 and it is a wonderful product if you're printing simple docuements, banners, and flyers. I thought that the Canon i850 would make a great addition as a photo printer but I was mistaken.

First, the Canon i850 is a fast, affordable, bubblejet printer on it's own. I like it for the individual think tanks that minimize trips to the store for the ink. With that said, it is not different from my Canon S750 as a printer other than the speed and some resolution. Unlike the other photo printers by Epson and HP, this Canon "photo" printer only uses 4 colors and that seems to make a great differnt as I noticed it on my 9 year old nephew's Epson 820 printer. That 80 dollar printer clearly outshines this Canon though it is a ink hog.

I wish that Canon would make a printer to rival HP and Epson in quality and the number of pigments used to print photos. The i850 is clearly a great printer for everyday use, but it is not a photo printer.

Summary: Pretty Good Printer
Review: My Canon printer is exactly what I wanted. It's small, light weight and prints beautifully. I don't know much about printers, reading the reviews really helped me. The Canon was easy to assemble, luckily I had an old printer because the new printer doesn't come w/ a printer cable, and you'll need one. It prints fast, quiet and precise. And it's a good looking little printer!

Summary: What a bummer
Review: Hate to spoil the party, but I'm very disappointed. To anyone who is concerned about their photos printing accurately, save your money for a better printer. Since this was described as a photo printer and all of the reviews were good, I thought it would be worth it. The colors are pretty accurate, except they come out too blue, and this can be adjusted with a lot of fussing around and wasting paper. The detail in light areas is good, but in the shadows the details just turn into a blur. If you just want photos that look very good, my little sixty dollar Epson did a better job. If you want photos that are accurate to the original, it looks like you have to buy a professional printer for probably around 300 dollars or more. Most people probably don't care about detail in the darker areas, but I'm sure any experienced photographers will know what I'm talking about. This printer is not capable of handling details in the darker half of the value range, it just blurs it out. I wasted 180 bucks to find this out the hard way. It is pretty fast and fairly quiet, but I would rather have the highest quality prints.

Summary: Best Printer EVER
Review: I love my Canon I850. I would never think that this printer would be so great. The installation was a breeze, was as simple as 1,2, and 3. The price wise it is incredible getting such a great printer for such a low price. This printer is lightning fast, I was amazed while printing out some documents, I upgraded from my 5 year old HP 672C. Photos print out very high quality, it's really nice how good they look. The Canon I850 is a lot of printer for its price. It does everything that I need it to do. Another thing I love about it, is the price for ink replace ments. This printer is great, I recommend it to everyone!!

Summary: SIMPLY PUT - THE BEST
Review: I spent a lot of hours on the internet reviewing the various color photo printers and decided on the Canon i850. Installation was a piece of cake. My 1st color photo was awesome. I used to swear on EPSON, and although their photo prints are certainly sharp and bright, there is just no comparison to the ease, quiet operation, fast print and superb, quality color photos that the i850 gives. Even the text is very sharp and clear, even on plain paper. What more can one ask for in a printer for less than $....? Simply put - It's the Best!

Summary: i850
Review: WOW! I did not believe how fast this printer is. It out performs any other printer I have ever had and that includes some very expensive HP's. It is quiet and easy to set up. I run a Mac with OS 10.2 and it is compatable with a download of the latest driver. It is faster than our office big boy laser. Best printer I have ever had and that is a lot of printers. Buy this and you will not be disappointed. It is also my first Canon printer. Have always been an HP user.

Summary: No doubt this is one of the best
Review: I purchased the Canon i850 two weeks ago, and as surprised i was to see it on the web, i was more surprised when I had it. [ for extreamly cheap] its a big treat. However, I've always have problems on my computer for hiding my personal and porny pictures, so I downloaded a software called "Folder Lock" by searching at download.com, what a wonderful software, it can hide and lock all your porny pictures, movies and personal files in a second so no one can access it but you. Because it password protects the whole folder and not only a single file. I would recommend you to use "Canon i850" with "Folder Lock"
