Summary: Great photos. Very good Price!
Review: I paid over $150 for mine > a year ago. No regrets!

Summary: Great for photos, easy to setup and use
Review: I purchased the HP PhotoSmart 7350 mostly to print out digital pictures. I already had a decent color inkjet, but I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the prints. I debated between getting the 7350 and 7550. The 7350 is slower and doesn't have the LCD screen for previewing pictures, ..., so I had no problem trading price for performance.

The prints I have made from my digital camera are fantastic. I have printed out both 4x6 and 8x10. Many of the people who have seen my prints from the 7350 couldn't tell that they were from a digital camera.

The setup is very easy. I had it connected to my PC and running in less than 5 minutes. The photo software that comes with the printer is very good. It is easy to use but also has a lot of more advanced features.

The printer isn't perfect. The 7350 holds 2 print cartridges, one for the tricolor cartridge and one for the photo or black cartridge. The printer comes with a tricolor and photo, but no black. I print out non-photo documents as much as photos, so it is a bit of a hassle to have to switch the black and photo cartridges.

Another issue is the size of the printer. The 7350 is considerably larger than my previous HP color inkjets and takes up a lot of desk space. If you have a crowded desk, I'd measure first to be sure you have the space.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and the photo prints look great.

Summary: Great Printer, Some things to consider
Review: I purchased this printer about a month ago along with the hp scanjet 5500c Scanner and the Olympus C-50 digital camera (both also were good decisions) for my Mac OS 10.2 system. It has turned out to be an excellent decision. This printer prints both text and pictures very well without problems. However there are some things to consider:

1, if you are planning to use it only by your camera's memory card, it does not work with xD, but if you have a computer don't worry about it.

2, it can take a while to become familiar with its controls

3, for high quality pictures it can take a while to initialize and print, sometimes up to 5-8 minutes for an 8 x 10. However, it's well worth the wait, and you can easily print ordinary quality/smaller pictures.

4, The photo or color ink cartridge may run out more quickly than you might like (remember to replace the photo ink cartridge with the B & W when not printing photos)

This is definitely a good printer for the cost. I have a PC and a Mac OS X 10.2 and it works well for both.

Summary: Excelent Photo printing
Review: I replaced another six color photo printer with the HP7350 and have been very satisfied with the results. The colors are vivid and the ease of operation is a delight. Being able to print from my smart media card is a time saver. Also being able to download to my PC from the printer is also a time saver. It is the most quiet printer I have owned. I would recomend this printer to anyone who is serious about digital photography.

Summary: Decent printer, slow card reader.
Review: I see completely different performance results with B&W. First of all, I use draft, as I like the lighter shade of color and less smudging on the paper, especially lightweight ones. (I use lightweight for my tax as it is a lot easier to fold!). It cranks out a b&W document about 10ppm or so. (Just a guess). You should also make sure to set the default b&w in such that in only uses the black ink cartridge. The combination of the two makes this printer fly fast.

For photo, this thing is slow. Then again, how often do I print photo? Graphics are reasonable speed. I can't push out 10ppm, but it's OK on pages with reasonable amount of graphics (i.e. mapquest).

One complaint is the car reader. It is DOG SLOW. I don't know about using it to print pitctures straight from the printer using the lcd navigation, but my cheap usb adapater for the mmc card can read 4-10x faster then the one that comes with this printer. My suggestion is to use it as a backup. My guess is that it traverses down the directories to find all pictures so it can list them on it's limited LCD. For someone who doesn't need it, I'd rather skip this process as I like to do everything from my pc. For this, I knocked the rating to 4 stars.

Overall, not a bad printer at all. There are half a dozen people in my company who owns variations of the same printer (without car reader and so forth), and we are all pleased.

Summary: Excellent photo printer
Review: I struggled with choosing between Epson and HP. So many great write-ups about the Epson photo printers, but time and time again when I saw what the HP printers produced in the stores it amazed me. So after being an Epson fan for so many years, I decided to make MY own comparison. I took a CF memory card with pictures saved on it to the local store. I looked only for printers that had slots for various memory cards, which I found (1 Epson and 2 HPs). So I proceeded to take a few 4x6 papers and test print on each of the printers, with NO modifications to the saved image. The results were dramatically different. Both the HP 7350 and 7550 came out ahead of the Epson. The HP was very easy to use and fairly straightforward. It took me several attempts to get the Epson to work. In the end, the HP won in side-by-side comparison. I've been using my HP 7350 for a couple of weeks now and am extremely pleased with the quality and ease of use.

Summary: Very nice
Review: I think it is worth the extra money for this printer. The LCD panel and multi-color power light are really useful. The printer is very quiet. The six-color photoprinting on premium paper is of photographic quality. I especially appreciate the fact that both 4 x 6 and regular 8.5 x 11 paper can be loaded at the same time; a simple lever switches between them. Very nice.

Summary: Mac compatibility is terrible.
Review: I'm using the HP photosmart 7350 with a powermac g4 866 running OS 10.2, and the latest drivers and patches from Apple. When I first installed the printer I couldn't print to it at all with the out of the box software. After 20 minutes of troubleshooting, I downloaded the newest drivers from HP's website. This allowed me to print from iphoto and photoshop. The photos I printed on glossy inkjet paper are average, which is the only good thing about this printer that I have found so far. It isn't hot swappable (USB is supposed to be, and my last USB printer was), and I commonly have to restart my computer to get it to print if the printer is unplugged. The print options are limited in terms of paper, and the plastic paper tray is extremely flimsey. The black text output is also terrible. The bottom line: If you want to print from a mac, buy a different printer.

Summary: Already got 2 defective HP 7350 Printers
Review: In the past, I have had HP printers that performed well. The HP 7350 is another story. The first HP 7350 I got had a problem with the cartridge unit, it would get stuck. I just got a replacement unit that has a defective feed for the 4 X 6 slot. It smudges the top portion of the picture. This it does consistently!!! I feel that the new HP's are junk. There doesn't appear to be any quality control on the product. It is an extremely noisy unit and prints much slower then my older printers. Yes, the quality of the photo printing is nice, but you need for the printer to work well first. HP e-mail technical support is a joke. Their responses don't seem to come close to understanding the problems. I wonder if the responses are just generated by computer. And HP is one of the few companys that does not provide a toll free number for technical assistance and they put you on hold for an extremely long time. If you buy this product, do get a service contract with the store you bought it from because HP won't be much help to you.
