Summary: Beyond My Expectations
Review: I read everything I could about Epson and Canon photo printers...I was concerned about the amount of ink used as well as photo quality.
I had an Epson 740i, which served me well, but never quite matched the colors on the screen, (iMac DV 400), or in the original photographs. I use Photoshop 7 and an Epson 1200u scanner. The scanner does excellent work and I've had it for 3 plus years.
Bottom line: EVERYTHING LOOKS BETTER PRINTED ON THE CANON i950! You can hardly hear it working, which is amazing in itself. From simple text, to scanned text, to digital or paper photos. It's all good!
Ink is pricy. I've gone through one full set of all six colors and an extra black and photo magenta tank. So far, I've stuck with Canon ink. Staples is as good or better than anyplace, for prices, but I may try inkjets.cfriends.com soon.

Summary: Poor Photos
Review: I have an Epson 740 and wanted to upgrade. This printers photo quality is sub par compared to my dated Epson 740. Very disappointed. Taking this one back and exchanging it for something else.

Summary: Amazing Shipping
Review: I haven't opened the box yet; just wanted to tell somebody that I ordered this printer June 10 and got it at my house in Texas on June 12. That was with the free shipping option. (Dell couldn't come up with one after a week's waiting.)

Summary: Awesome Printer
Review: I ordered this printer based on the reviews here and recommendations on a computing tech forum and it is everything that people have said. The 4x6 photos look just like they came from the photo processer, the printer is fast and very quiet. It is very easy to set up and the software installed easily on my XP computer. The software that came with it is good too. The Easy-Photo Print is convenient and very simple to use.

I got a great deal from Amazon.com too, less than the price in the local stores, free shipping and no sales tax which saved quite a lot.

Summary: 'Must' Purchase With This Printer
Review: Please don't forget to purchase an (A to B) USB cable if you don't have one for this printer. I did not know it was not included with the printer and so I had to go to the store to buy one. And then I bought the wrong one (A to mini-B)!

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: Combined with Canon Photo Paper Plus and Pro, this printer produces true photo quality prints if not better. The 6 ink catridges are great, just make sure you stock up on the Photo Magenta and Photo Cyan.

The Easy Photo Print software makes it a snap to print a variety of size and type prints.

Very satisfied customer!

Summary: Just buy it!
Review: Not a better, easier to use, inexpensive color printer on the market! Buy it and you wont regret it! Skimpy with the ink, quiet and fast. No problems setting up or using with my Mac G4. Output quality is simply awesome!

Summary: Should have bought this sooner!
Review: Excellent printer. I read other users' comments here before buying, and all the reviews were accurate. The photo quality is exceptional, the speed is noteworthy, and wow, is it quiet!

Nice looking, extremely well made, easy to insert cartridges, and fairly compact. I am running Mac OS X 10.2.6 and setup was flawless.

I switched from an 8 month old Epson 820 that was impossibly clogged and in need of replacement. Other users reported similar problems, and though Epson offered to replace it with a remanufactured one, I didn't want to go through the same problems again.

Should have bought the i950 in the first place. It's a jewel.

Summary: Canon i950 - an outstanding printer
Review: I have been using HP printers for a number of years. The latest was a Photosmart 1000. So I debated between ordering and HP and the Canon. I made the right decision. Amazon delivered the printer in record time and at a price less that I would pay locally.

Setup of the printer was a breeze although someone certainly taped the various parts in place quite well. There were no hitches in the setup using Win XP.

The Canon produces prints far superior to any of the HP printers I have owned. The print speed for graphics is excellent. With the HP, I would start a print before supper and half way through the meal, the print would be done. The Canon prints graphics almost as rapidly as the HP printed text and is done quickly.

Colors are vivid and color rendition is accurate. I have printed digital pictures previously printed on an HP and the Canon prints are far superior. Pictures with a considerable range of brightness were printed accurately.

I have printed using both high cost HP photo parer and discount Jet Print paper. Both printed about equally. With the HP, you needed to use HP paper for the best results. However, I'm afraid my printing budget will take a hit because I want to print out more pictures since they look so good.

A minor complaint - with heavy stock photo paper, the paper falls out of the catch tray and onto the desk.

Summary: I love this printer
Review: I purchased the canon S800 three years ago. I was very happy with that printer and I am thrilled to own the new I950. Quality is there in build and print. Also, has a small footprint so if space is an issue this is also a good choice. Think tank system is a nice feature as well. I love it, I love it, I love it!
