Summary: A Dud
Review: I have purchased Epson printers for years, and normally I am fairly satisfied. This design however was obviously not tested. As others have said, the paper very easily jams, the nozzles clog frequently and easily, and the printer drinks quite a bit of ink. I currently also use an Epson 2200, which has ended up costing less because it does better with the ink (ink is where these companies make their money of course).

Summary: Beautiful pictures, great customer service
Review: I just bought this two days ago. I was switching from a Canon S800. I was extremely impressed with the pictures that were coming out. Much better than on my old Canon. Setup was a cinch. The best part is the true borderless prints. The 4x6's I printed look like they came from a photo developer. In fact, they're probably better looking than any one-hour photo I've used. And the pictures look great on matte or glossy. The epson paper is also cheaper than the Canon paper. I only wish Epson made precut 5x7 paper!I haven't determined if it really is an ink hog, but for the quality, it's worth it. And I don't think the tanks are that expensive. A full set of the Canon's used to run me ~[$$], but these are under [$$] (color, don't really need black all that much). The printer is really really slow, though. Probably the biggest drawback for me. I haven't played with the features on the display. I've been printing from the computer. The best part has been that I had a paper jam that I caused, and couldn't fix. I called tech support, and they agreed to send me a new printer right away. I will send mine back after I get the new one, which should be 2-3 days. No hassling, or anything. I've been converted to an Epson user.

Summary: What a piece of junk
Review: I paid $250 for this piece of junk no more than 9 months ago and now I've seen it for almost $100. Kind of tells you something about this printer. I always use HP printers but my wife said that her company recommended the Epson 925. If I don't print for a few days, the nozzles get clogged and you have to waste paper cleaning the head and unclogging the nozzles. As I run Windows XP Pro and the printer is on a USB 2.0 and have the latest Epson 925 drivers, I seem to only get two pictures printed and the printer times out. Another waste of paper. If this the best Epson can do, you'd be foolish to buy an Epson photo printer. I'm dumping this printer and going back to reliable HP.

Summary: Great quality printer!
Review: I purchased this printer a few months back, it is a good printer.
First I would like to say that I've read other reviews on this printer stating different types of problems people where having with it. In the time I've used it, I have not experienced any problems with it. Print quality is excellent. In fact when I ask people to try and tell the difference between the printed copy and the copy from the film developers they end up picking the copy I printed, thinking it came from the developer. In fact my printed copy comes out more crisp and clear. It is a bit slow printing, but I think that's why the picture comes out so great. Besides I won it on Ebay, BRAND NEW for $56.00. You sure can't complain about that! Good Luck!

Summary: Epson 925
Review: I purchased this printer to replace a 3 year old Epson 900. After 3 years that printer had become ink-logged. It smeared ink over everything we tried to print. The Epson 925 is doing the same thing after one month of use. We went through a color ink cartrige within the first month even though we were not printing color. The simple act of cleaning emptied the cartridge, which needs to be done often in order to print at all. I actually purchased the printer from Best Buy. I asked for my money back. Too bad, it actually worked for more than 14 days. Please contact Epson. Epson says please contact your reseller. Do not buy this printer or any other Epson for that matter unless you are just looking for a paper holder. If you actually need to print more than once a month, buy something else.

Summary: Great Printer / Reasonable Price
Review: I received this printer only for a week. The printer setup was very easy, I like the Epson quick start guide, it was easy to understand and it only took me 10 minutes to setup. I can start print photos right away by insert the CF card without PC, it was so convenience to print snap shots at home without waiting for hours or days. I was very impressed by the colors and details that I got from the pictures. It look like the prints you order from the local photo labs. Before you decide to print a picture, print an index sheet first to avoid any mistake, also the LCD on the printer is so easy to make any changes. For best result, I am getting a usb cable to connect to pc, so I can do some photo enhancement to make my pictures look better, to get perfect prints.
For the price of this good quality printer, you won't go wrong!

Summary: VERY DISAPPOINTING
Review: I was sold on Epson after using a Stylus 777 printer that I received with the purchase of a Dell Computer 2 years ago. I have an Olympus digital camera that I have printed several pictures from in that time frame. I decided to purchase the 925 because of the many options with it. I set the printer up last night and printed a few pictures and am very disappointed. It had already used a considerable amount of ink. The pictures were not clear, there are lines, and the colors are terrible. They are no where near the quality of the 777 (and it's quality has decreased after 2 years of printing). I am not sure what printer to purchase now. Needless to say I am returning the printer. I might add that I AM very pleased with Amazon, the delivery time was less than a week, and they make it very easy to return.

Summary: Good Printer!
Review: I was unsure of my decision to buy this printer from a lot of the other reviews I had read (they wern't so good) and I had had a lot of issues with my old 785EPX, but still like Epson's quality above all others. I have used Epson printers for the last 5 years, starting with the 875DCS. The 785EPX worked great for the first year and then went crazy, mostly about the ink cartridges, I would have to clean the heads 5 times before I would get a clear good print. The reason I choose the 925 over the 825 was the new ink cartridges. I decided to give it a try and went ahead and bought it (mostly becuase I needed a new printer and had some mail in rebates for it). I have had the printer for about 2 months now and have not had any problems at all! No issues with paper feeding or ink (in the 785EPX I was having streaking issues), I leave my printer on all day everyday and when I havn't used it in awhile it takes a minute for it to warm up, but otherwise this printer had resorted my faith in Epson! I highly suggest it over the 825 (becuase of the cartridges).

Summary: Do not use with Linsys pps1uw print server
Review: I wished to use this with the Linksys pps1uw usb print server. Could not get it to work. Received a message during install of the printserver stating not to use the epson spool manager. I was using windows 2000 and there is no epson spool manager program for 2000. Still waiting on both Epson and Linksys to return my email as both of there phone queuqes are a wast of time. If I can make it work I will repost so that others do not feel my pain.

Summary: Phenominal cost/performance Printer
Review: I would feel better about my opinion if I could compare a full size pic from this printer to the much more expensive 960. With that said, I love this printer. Really, this is a machine with split personalities (as are many of the photo printers out there today). First, it is a printer attached to and used by your computer. There are a huge number of options once you hit the print button. So many, in fact, that it is easy to mess up the quality and/or colors in your print. But if you are patient, the results from this printer are amazing. Using premium glossy photo paper, I am amazed at how much the vibrant images seem to leap from the print. Really a stark contrast to the dull flat images of yesterday's inkjets. Print speed is okay, nothing wonderful. And, of course, don't use this printer to do regular docs. The quality is fine, but you're better off with one of the cheap (but fast and high quality) lasers out there, many about 100 clams. Second, this is an independent digital camera printer. It has built in slots for compactflash, memory stick, and mmc. This is a great contrast to those printers with just a pc card reader (then yoiu have to purchase the appriate adaptor for you camera). I might add that the printer serves as an all purpose memory card reader exceptionally well. Any card you put in appears as a removebale drive on your XP computer. I must say, the use of this printer independently is very limited right out of the box. That is becasue it lacks a preview monitor. Forget about being able to print the right picture from many on a memory card - impossible unless you waste time and ink and paper on an index page. Also, the fancy features for cropping, resizing, rotating, etc are worthless absent the monitor. Since the monitor must be purchased separately at a third of the cost of the printer itself (for a tiny, tiny monitor), this is problematic. While HP photo printers are more expensive, they generally have built-in monitors, making the price more even w/ this one. But, the good news is that I just ordered a monitor for an older epson photo printer of ... very, very cheap. I called Epson, which told me that the monitor will work fine, it is just white instead of black. Finally, I want to address the paper roller. Included is a roll of premium photo paper on a 4" wide roll. This is a GREAT idea. Since this printer can print all the way to the edges, you can produce high volume 4X6 prints easily. The printer will print them onto the roll paper and automatically cut them as it prints!! The result are prints that make my account with on-line digital photo processors obsolete. The only complaint is that the prints curl pretty substantially since they are on a roll. In sum, a great printer. Sturdier construction than Epson has produced in the past, exceptional quality prints. The status screen is hard to read if the printer is on a tall surface. The paper is actually kind of difficult to load correctly. The lack of a preview monitor (and its supplemental expense) makes many of the features unusable. But these are really just technical points. At the price this printer is going for, it is a must have for amateur photographers.
