Rating: Summary: Great printer for its price range Review: I didn't have high expectations for this low-priced printer, but it has certainly surprised me with its quality and speed. Draft mode for black-and-white pages to save ink is still very presentable, while color pages at normal and high quality are good. It was also easy to install and doesn't take up too much space. The only thing is that it doesn't have an output tray, so if you NEED that you might want to get another printer. I haven't used the i250 long enough to know how long the ink cartridge lasts, but if you want a cheap but good printer, this is the one to get.
Rating: Summary: Good printer but a little noisy Review: I love this printer. It has a small footprint, low cost ink, great print quality, fast print speed, and easy to use printer drivers. I also like the Paper In Tray which can be closed to cover the printer to keep dust out. However, it is much noiser than my old Canon S200 printer. It also takes a while for it to complete its warm-up routing before it actually starts printing. But when it does start printing it is fast. I also noticed that it only has one rubber wheel to feed paper into the printer unlike the S200 which had 2. Thus, there are times when the paper can get fed into the machine a little skewed especially if you are using very thin typing paper. But on the whole I still love this machine.
Rating: Summary: No Frills Printer that will save you a LOT of money Review: I purchased this bubble jet as a second family printer mainly for documents, and letters and have been extremely impressed.
It's fairly compact, very easy to install and use and has already more than paid for itself.
The average cost of a replacement black cartridge is around $3 online for multi packs of 5 and I have purchased multi packs of color cartridges also online at under $5 each including shipping! Compared with many other top brands that cost up to $35 per cartridge - that's a big big saving. As I said this is a "no frills" printer, but actually has very clear reproduction onto photo paper in high color using the idiot proof "Easy Photo" software provided. The Maintenance window allows you to do many functions including resetting the cartridges for low ink warning after installing new ones, a quiet mode for night printing, and many other functions. Another gem is the "Easy-Web" print feature that allows you to capture web pages for printing on standard paper without losing information on the edges, as you would using the regular print function from Windows. The only minor complaint I have is that being a bubble jet, high quality print in both BW and color can take a little while to dry, but other than this - it's a wonderful budget package, with a well known and respected name. If you're into CAD or high quality photo reproduction, imaging and such like then this is not for you - but if you print a lot of draft quality documents, and have a family especially who churn out pages of printed matter per day, this will serve you well, and save you a LOT of money. I've had mine for over 6 months and it is in daily use with NO problems to date. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: ink wells Review: I think this printer is ideal for me to work from home & do webpage design. I cannot figure how to put ink in when it has run dry though. Anybody explain it to me please?
Rating: Summary: lasted 6 weeks Review: I'm thrilled with my Canon i250 inkjet. It has performed flawlessly for a month now. My two teenagers are happy with it also and today is the first time that I have had to replace the black ink cartridge. For an economy priced printer, this one does it all without complaint. The quality of the print, both color and black, is good as well as the speed of the printing. It makes a bit of a racket when printing but you quickly learn to live with the clanky noise. I've had no paper jams so far which is good. The printer is compact and will fit into a small space. The ink cartridges are reasonably priced which is another plus. The USB is not included so be prepared to buy one. All told, I've had a positive experience with this printer and I would not hesitate to buy another.

Rating: Summary: Inexpensive Quality Review: I've had my Canon i250 for about three months and it's worked perfectly. I have gone through two black print cartridges during the time I've had it, but these two ($13) were cheaper to buy than one $30 HP cartridge. Just keep a spare cartridge on hand. Still haven't run out of color yet. Black text is flawless and fast...makes $40-50 HPs look foolish.
Rating: Summary: Best Printer I've ever used!!!! Review: I've used many printers before from HP, Lexmark, Epson, and others. This printer stands alone as simple, sleek, sharp & clear, fast, small, easy-to-use, and pocket-friendly. Get it now and you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Halt... make sure of what you are buying Review: Okay. I was searching for a printer.. I got on Amazon.com my favorite site for information... this site said that this printer could be used on windows 95.. I literally ran out and bought one at 9:00 pm.. the box didn't have '95 on it but I thought that Amazon.com had useful information. I got it home. I had trouble loading it. Now after buying this thing and staying up ALL night and spending half a day today doing a diagnostic on my machine..I can't get this printer to work. It's on my system but the system doesn't recongize a USB can someone help? ugg. Now, I have to call Canon..(and oh '95 drivers are not available on the web!).. help. It's cute printer; sounds great; looks nice on my desk but I can't get it to work. (miclmarin@aol.com)
Rating: Summary: Printer driver patch allows printing for Mac OS X 10.3.2 Review: Purchased printer for Mac running OS X 10.3.2. Couldn't get printer driver to install correctly. Thought I was doomed when read the review "Do not buy this if you are on Mac OSX Panther, January 15, 2004 from Reviewer: mike4023." Called Canon technical support and there is a downloadable patch "bjupdater.dmg" available to fix this problem and now it works fine. Tech support that I not put the link online and to call them directly because they are working on correcting the OS X printer driver that downloadable at their website canon.com technical support area, but haven't finished it yet.
