Summary: A very good quality scanner
Review: I owned several scanners before and this one is of good quality and value.

Summary: low price = low quality
Review: I purchased the Canon D1250U2 and the HP 3570C. The HP model
cost a little more but the difference in quality is amazing. The HP model is much better than the Canon and even scans faster.

The Canon picture did not have very good details. With a picture
with someone's head, the HP defined the hair very clearly as well as the rest of the picture, the Canon model kind of blurred
everything together.

I do not recommend this scanner and I am returning it to Amazon.

Summary: Great scanner, can't believe the price!
Review: I purchased three of these ....My scanners worked perfectly, no problems at all, with Windows XP Home, XP Professional, and Windows 2000. Plug-and-play. Also, canon does offer drivers for this scanner online on their website, someone just needs to do a little hunting to find them. Color reproduction is great, resolution is good, I found that I didn't need to do any color correction or editing with this scanner. It's not very fast if you don't have usb 2.0 but still decent. (with a newer usb 2.0 card or motherboard, it will scan full color pages in seconds, literally).

Summary: Junk
Review: I read all of the good reviews and bought one. I am sorry about every fourth scan it will appear in Picture It at an angle, no reason for it. My old Mustex 600EP III Plus does a much better job but it is getting old and slow aboput warming up.

Summary: Quick and Easy
Review: I replaced a Genius USB scanner that I couldn't find XP drivers for. I was scanning within minutes of installation. Very good quality, and fast. It's nice to find a quality scanner at such a reasonable price. I love the ability to make an "instant" copy without having to go through editing software. Worth more than the [dollars]it costs.

Summary: Not what I expected from Canon products
Review: I used to work for Canon USA as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and tested many Canon scanner and printer drivers in the past. As far as this scanner goes - I wouldn't buy another one again! The problem is in the scanner's driver, it has to recalibrate every time it scans a page. It takes 8 sec., so 8sec. times 10 pages, that's 80sec. waiting time where my other older Canon scanner does the scan right away! No wating time to warm up the lamp before each scan. What a shame !!

Summary: With a USB 2.0 adapter, it's super fast and kewl.
Review: I'm a professional photographer who demands only the best quality. Combined with photoshop, ... this scanner is one of the greatest pieces of equipment I ever installed on my PC. ..Just plug in the scanner, turn on your computer, and when windows says it found something, put the cd in and let it fly!

The only downside to this scanner is that it has a tendency to scan a bit reddish. After going into advance mode and tweaking with some of the color curves, I got great scans from it.

Please note that this scanner also includes Omnipage Pro 9. ... Although there is a newer version, this version gets the job done.

Summary: Great buy for the low price
Review: I'm new to scanning, and decided to give this one a try because of the low price & seemingly good reviews. It was easy to set up & install my Windows2000 system, and I was scanning in minutes. The images are of good quality, and the software package that comes with it has everything you need to get started. The only drawback is the speed (which can be slow), but for [amount], it is well worth the price!

Summary: Nice for the money
Review: If you're looking for real high quality scans, look elsewhere and expect to pay for it. This scanner works just fine. Especially, for the low price. I'm not sure why people have "bitched about not getting a good scan"...Maybe they don't read the instructions that come with the scanner or don't know how to adjust the scan with the software it comes with.....Maybe they don't even calibrate their monitor correctly...Once you scan a photo, you can then import it into Photoshop or Paintshop Pro and tweak it all you want. No big deal...This is a good scanner for the money...If you want something more...then pay for it...

Summary: A few minor issues...
Review: In general, I found this to be an excellent scanner for the price. But I did have a few issues with it. First of all, the underside of the glass was filthy. It was fogged/marked in 4 places that I could see. Because there is no way to open the scanner (that I can see) to clean the glass myself, I will have to exchange this scanner for another. Second, the scanner does seem to need to "Adjust the Lamp" every time you do a scan, as a previous reviewer noted. I'm not sure why this is necessary. Finally, there is no on-off switch that I could see. The scanner does seem to be "on" all the time, which seems to be a common "feature" of many electronics today that I could do without.
On the plus side, the scanning software does a nice job handling multi-picture scans. The time this will save me in scanning in family photos is worth the minor problems above. And I found the scan quality to be quite acceptable compared to previous scanners I've owned. I had no problems setting up the scanner under WinXP Pro.
