Rating: Summary: Great scanner until it died Review: Bought one at CompUSA. It worked great. Last weekend (12/15) I figured out how to make the scanning software work perfectly for me (in a way not described in the light-weight instructions--outline subject, hit preview, and preview will resize window so you don't have to use pre-set paper sizes). However, that may have been the signal to the machine. It simply stopped working on 12/16. Nothing I did got it going again. Unplug it, plug it back in, reload drivers, press any of the 3 buttons on the scanner, etc., nothing. It became a too-big paperweight and I only had it for about 2 months (and didn't have the invoice any more, drat). I guess it was too light weight to keep scanning comic books. Fortunately, the Omnipro9 that comes with it works with my ancient Vivitar scanner :)
Rating: Summary: Quick and Easy with good results Review: I hate to have to reconfigure my system every time I add a periphal. My best luck has come with the canoscan N67OU. I turned off my pc, plugged the cable in the USB port (no power plugs to mess with), started up the pc and loaded some cool gui programs and I was done. I like the fact that I am in control of the resoltion of the output.I don't usually take the time to review a product but this one merited the effort.
Rating: Summary: Good Scanner Review: Scans are very nice. Makes good text copies. Speedy.
Only problem I have is that there's a lock on the bottom that you have to unleash for the scanner to work. Took me forever to figure this one out. Didn't read the manual--MY BAD! Don't use the new updated Windows XP driver on the Canon website--it makes scans markedly WORSE than using the older driver on the included CD disk. The software, like those included on MOST scanners, is cheesy. Just go to the store and buy Photoshop Elements for great at-home photo tweaking.
Rating: Summary: No Good Review: The resolution is terrible and the colors look cartoonish.
Rating: Summary: Fun so far Review: Just got it and have scanned in 4-6 photos. Software was easy to load and seems compatible with Win'98. Scanner easy to use too, and great image quality. My only criticism has to do with the documentation they don't provide. Very slim manual that doesn't cover functions like copying documents. Still haven't figured out how to do this.
Rating: Summary: Good Scanner Review: I purchased this scanner to replace an old Paperport VX sheetfed scanner. I've read a couple of reviews re image quality on scanned photos , etc. I've never used a flatbed scanner, so I was a little disappointed in the scan speed, but this scanner is actually faster than comparable flatbed scanners. Regarding the photo scan quality.......I scan photos into "Picture It" and I feel the quality of the image is outstanding for a sub $100 scanner (or for that matter a $100+ scanner). I think it's a good value.
Rating: Summary: CANON CANOSCAN N670U Review: THIS IS THE FRST SCANNER I'VE HAD SO I CAN ONLY RATE IT'S PERFORMANCE. I LIKE IT'S SLEEK STYLE AND ALTHOUGH,NEW, I ALSO LIKE IT'S PICTURES FOR THE PRICE RANGE IT'S IN.I IMAGINE IT COULD BE BETTER IF YOU SPEND MUCH MORE BUT FOR THIS PRICE AND FOR NORMAL HOUSEHOLD USE I THINK IT'S JUST FINE.HURRAH TO CANON!!
Rating: Summary: MbndBB Review: Product style is great for design, quality of photos, & price.
Rating: Summary: I love this scanner Review: After purchasing the Canon n656u scanner and having so many problems with it, I finally purchased the N670u from Canon and I have to say I love it. It is simple, easy and very, very nice to work with. For some reason Canon gives you a little bit more of detailed instructions on using this scanner as well. For the price that it is, think it is well worth the money. In addition, it is so cute. The N656U was adorable as well, but it worked when it felt like it.
Rating: Summary: Just What I Needed Review: These are the reasons this scanner has impressed me: 1) Photo scan quality is good. So good in fact, that a recent scan of a color drawing on paper revealed the fine paper texture in the image. 2) This makes photocopies a snap. All you have to do is put the paper under the lid, press one button in front, and within seconds the printer is spitting out a great reproduction. 3) Slim design doesn't draw to much attention to itself, and is perfect for keeping a workspace looking tidy.
