The Intelligent Image Process Engine (IIPE) evaluates the correctscanner settings for many types of images, providing fast, untroubledscanning at high speeds. About 24 seconds is all it takes for an 8.5-by-11-inchcolor image at 300 dpi, with scaling from 1 to 1,000 percent in 5 percent increments.IIPE also auto-cropsimage areas and can correct the orientation if the source image isoff center.
