Rating: Summary: NICE FEATURES FOR THE PRICE Review: This is a great overall scanner with helpful features. The first scan I did matched the original exactly (as far as I could tell). It was easy to set-up and quick to scan. I really like the transparency adapter that comes with it. If you use large format slides or negatives, this scans 5" by 5" which really comes in handy. Not to mention the bundled software, you get a really good package. I recommend this for anyone who needs to scan images for catalogs, newletters, web pages, etc.

Rating: Summary: Extremely easy to set up and use; great results Review: This is the first scanner I've bought. I can honestly say that I've never experienced such a simple, seamless, helpful setup of any piece of computer hardware. Hewlett Packard got it right! No more staring at the screen wondering what to do next; no more "Why isn't this working?" The setup routine running off the CD-ROM walks you through it step by step, with short, clear, easy-to-understand prompts. Each step even has a small accompanying video to show you what to do. And the online help screens (after software installation) are the best I've ever seen. Dialog boxes pop up from time to time to let you know what's happening (such as "Windows will now build drivers for your new hardware" and "Leave the CD-ROM in the drive for now"). Once you get the software installed (itself a very easy process) and the hardware hooked up, a wizard walks you through your first scan, which couldn't be more straightforward: you press one button on the scanner itself! And the image quality is not only sharp but easily manipulable for various uses (print, archive, Web). I haven't even begun to make use of the lavish software bundle (which works for both Windows 98 and Mac). Because the scanner will work with paper images, slides, and negatives, I look forward to being able to archive and protect irreplaceable family photos. In short, a superb product that works exactly as it's supposed to. Way to go, HP!
Rating: Summary: HP 5370C software not compatible with windows XP Review: Why didn"t HP include the necessary software to install this program ( Precisionscan Pro no. 2.52. ) or at least offer it at no cost without having to download such a very large scanning program. This isn"t very good for HP consumer relations. My next scanner will be a cannon.
