Summary: Horrible Product!
Review: Completely useless, bad quality, clunky, and doesn't support anything but Win 98. I tried to download the updated drivers and all I got was a corrupt file error. Don't waste your money!

Summary: Very impressive! Great "bang for the buck".
Review: I figured I was taking a gamble paying so little for a scanner. We are on a tight budget so the price was right. I thought it would be slow with low quality results. I don't require ultra-high quality scans or high speed but I still figured I might end up returning it and having to pay more. I was very much wrong. First thing I did was scan a color photo. The quality was excellent even though I only scanned at the default 200dpi and 24bit color. Our old printer does not do the printout justice (next purchase will be a higher quality printer). I have a $ Hewlett Packard scanner at work that is not as fast, as high quality, or as user friendly. The second thing I scanned was a typewritten page into MS Word. The OCR worked great! I've played quite a bit more and continue to be impressed. Setup was easy. I was up and scanning within 15 minutes (probably less) of opening the box. I'm sure I can pay lots more and get better quality and speed, but for what I need it (e-mail, scanning into PrintShop, etc) this really fit the bill. Bottom line - I highly recommend this scanner for those with a low budget that don't need truly professional quality.

Review: I PURCHASED THE VISIONEER 6100 AND LOVE IT. I WANTED A SCANNER WITH EXCELLENT QUALITY AT A LOW PRICE. I DID! THIS SCANNER IS FAST WITH EXCELLENT QUALITY AND GREAT SOFTWARE! I RECOMEND THIS SCANNER FOR EVERYONE LOOKING FOR A LOW COST SCANNER WITH EXCELLENT QUALITY AND GTEAT SOFTWARE. ALSO I READ THAT THE LIGHT ALWAYS STAYS ON. THIS IS NOT TRUE. THERE ARE DRIVERS AVALIBLE TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF. MY LIGHT NEVER STAYED ON AND IT WAS INSTALLED OUT OF THE BOX. THE LIGHT PROBLEM MAY EXIST ON WIN95 NOT 98.

Summary: Very good machine except for one little disappointment.
Review: I purchased this scanner mainly because it had a $30 mail in rebate. It does everything I need to do very well. It has good software included that allows photo touch-ups, warping and other editing. The only draw back is that the power light on the scanner stays on after you are done and have exited the program. According to their manual this is normal and that the light will last forever. (But I unplug the power cord, as I do not want something on all the time.) It has interfered with my printer one time. I could not get anything to print, but that had stopped after I unplugged the scanner, plugged the printer back in, printed what I wanted and then re-plugged in the scanner. It seems to work OK now. Try it, you probably will like it.

Summary: Great Scanner, Horrible Company
Review: I purchased this scanner new about a year before xp came out.
It worked great until I had to upgrade to xp. Once I got xp I could not find any drivers, and they do not offer xp support.

I looked on their website and to get help for the visioneer 6100 you have to pay 2$ a minute on the phone by calling a 1-900 number because it is an older model scanner.

They also do not respond to my emails asking them for support.
Unless your running windows 98 or 95 this product will not work for you, and I highly recommend against this company.

I refuse to ever buy another product from them again, since they are too lazy to write new drivers for new operating systems.

I give them 2 thumbs down. What a waste of my money.

Summary: Impressive performance dispite the low price
Review: Setup was a mere unpack, unlock, plug-in, load software & begin scanning. The software package is comparable to Adobe & most other TWAIN-ware. The performance exceeded my expectations. I require high resolution / high color depth duplication -- and I got it! Coupled with a high-resolution printer, I was able to obtain first-use results approaching that of the original photo. The PaperPort software provides sufficient tweaks & adjustments to give quick & impressive results. The scanned image quality rivals that of other products costing much more.
