Summary: Great Product
Review: I bought this product, and Iam happy so far. The set up on my desktop was a breeze. I have only had it a few days, but iam very happy so far. The only thing that confused me, whille setting it up was that when I installed it on my laptop, i could not use the "quick scan" button on the machine. It took about 4 hours before we realized that that the printer will not run in the background on a laptop, you will have to manually open the program and press scan. I also had some trouble when emailing scans, I did it the first time, but you may have to work some things out with it, but it is an aswome product!! But note that the USB cable does not come with it, i had to wait another week to get it. The ink cartrages are soooo small, that I have a feeling they will not last long. I say give the printer a shot, it prints fast, easy setup, great quality, you should be happy!!!!

Summary: 6110 and Mac OS X Jaguar printer driver issue
Review: This printer is fantastic even though I didn't think so at first. The problem is that the printer driver on the cd-rom that comes with the 6110 is incompatible with my OS. I use OS X Jaguar (10.2.6). The printer driver that comes with the printer says it's for OS X for the 2110, 2210, and 6110 officejet printers. I guess that's kind of true because the driver did work fine during it's entire first day of use.

However, the next day, the printer driver would not allow me to use the scanner, and it frequently required two attempts to successfully get a print job through. When attempting to scan from the printer, I would always get the message, "Unable to Connect to PC." When attempting to scan from the PC with the HP software, my computer would be busy doing "something" (I don't know what) for a VERY long time. Then, when the scan preview window finally appeared, it was empty because nothing had been scanned!

I finally fixed this problem by going to the HP website and downloading the latest printer driver specific to OS X which is the following:

Description:
HP OfficeJet 6100 series software/driver

Release Date:
2003-05-01

Revision:
6.0.7

Size:
45.56 MB

I downloaded this driver, uninstalled the old HP software and driver, disconnected the USB cable, restarted my computer, connected the USB cable, and installed the new HP software and printer driver. Almost everything works great now. I can scan from my computer, but scanning from the printer only worked the first time I tried it. After that, I started getting the "Unable to Connect to PC" message again. That's too bad, but at least I can scan from the computer software with no problem. Hopefully, HP will release another driver to fix the problem with scanning from the printer. Either way, I'm deducting one star in my review for this printer driver issue. Other than that, everything good said about this printer in all of the five star reviews is true:

-Great color and B+W print quality
-Great photo printing (be sure to use the optional 6-color photo ink cartridge and premium glossy photo paper for best results)
-Great copying quality
-Great scanning quality (when the driver works)
-Great ink usage. I've read complaints about this, but I've printed quite a few photos and both ink cartridges still say they are at 90%.

I haven't tried the fax yet, so I can't comment on it.

Basically, if your OS works fine with the printer driver for the 6110, then this is a great multifunction printer to buy.

Summary: This baby is awesome
Review: I just got it today. Flawless setup, copied, scanned, faxed great and faster than expected. It is a very good looking printer setting on your desk and has a lot of options. Only drawback I see is that the ink cartridges are freaking small, so I doubt they'll last very long. Seems to be a better printer than dad's G95 printer which I thought would be hard to beat. Also is cool you can feed it one envelope for addressing through a special slot for fast printing (have to remove paper for multiple envelopes)

Summary: overall a good all-in-one
Review: I own this printer for about two months now and it has worked great so far. All the printer features are usable with ease when my home laptop is not docked and the software is unavailable. For quick, everyday copying or printing, I find the 'quality' button on the printer useful - 'Fast' mode runs the catridge once on the paper but produces a conveniently usable output and the 'best' mode is outstanding.

I have not given this a five stars because I am not happy with the color scan quality. And no comments on the photo printing because I do not use it.

The product is reasonably priced compared to the similar ones on the market. At the time of buying I narrowed the choices down to the HP 2210 and this printer - I preferred the automatic document feeder to avoid baby sitting the machine, did not need a memory stick slot and went for this one. I am very happy with this product and would recommend buying it.

Summary: Doesn't Work with Windows ME, it's awful
Review: I am an office manager of an advertising agency, upon in depth research I choose the 6110. Upon in depth usage I wanted to throw it out the window. Everything and anything that could go wrong with it did. It is not compatible with Windows ME or for usage on a network. It took 3 different returns to HP (a new machine resent 3 times) and it still wasn't working properly. So finally I am having them take it back and give me a full refund. I've only had it for 6 months. Be sure you're machine will work with this monster.

Summary: I hate my HP all-in-one printer.
Review: I have an older HP (Office jet G55Xi). It worked sort of ok for a year or so (each print job did crash the network), but when I upgraded my network well it quit working. I have the Jet direct server, which can be upgraded, and presumably that would help, but it requires a PC (I have macs) to do the upgrade. Soft PC does not seem to work. SOOO I figured I can just use the USB port. No such luck. My mac cannot find the printer when I hook it to the USB port. However, the HP installer does crash my computer. So, I call them. Its out of warranty. Please have your credit card ready to pay for support. NO F'N way buddies. I will never buy another HP product, and (especially if you are a mac user) I urge you to consider companies that actually make usable products. It makes a pretty good copier at least. Other than that its a rather expensive paper weight.

Summary: HP6110 is a homerun!
Review: I wanted an easy to setup and use printer with sheet-fed copier/fax and flat bed scanner that would print in color as well as BW.

I found that setup and most/all functions were easy to set up and use. The print speed is fast and quality is great, especially the color photos in 3 or 6 ink cartridge versions. The 6110 looks good, takes up very little space (as compared to my fax, printer and scanner today), is quiet and fast.

The only two things I didn't like about the unit were:
1) No USB cable included, but this is minor,
2) You can't fax from any application directly through the 6110, you need to use additional software not included with the 6110.

So far I think this is the best multi function printer I have ever owned, in this regard I agree with most of the earlier reviewers.

Summary: Quality multi-function printer at an affordable price
Review: I purchaced the HP 6110 printer about a month ago and have used it extensively. The copy, scan and print funtions are easy to use and the quality is superb! I have only used the fax capabilities on 2 occasions so far so won't elaborate on it. I use this primarily for photo printing and it does a great job. Even scanning 4x6 photos at 1200x1200 resolution print an unbelievable 8x10 enlargement (using optional photo cartridge). I would suggest an extended warranty as their are many moving parts in this device although HP is known for their quality.

Summary: GREAT MACHINE
Review: I did a LOT of research on multifunction machines and finally decided to buy the HP 6110. I am thoroughly happy with my decision. My primary uses are photo printing, scanning and once-in-a-while faxing and copying. The print quality is great - I love the enhanced 4800 dpi photo printing. An 8 by 10 print from a 4 megapixel camera looks like it came from the photo store. Wonderful!

I'd read several reviews that stated that the machine was hard to set up. I have come to the conclusion that those reviewers did not follow the poster that came with the product - it was SO easy to follow and I had no problems whatsoever. Setup on Windows XP was flawless.

Don't forget to get a USB cable - they do NOT include one with this machine.

Overall, I am very impressed with the 6110 and I am truly happy with my decision. Highly recommended!!

Summary: Love this machine!
Review: Best features of the printer are the auto paper feed above the flat bed scanner, the auto paper sensing (knew that I had left labels in the document feeder when a fax came in and asked me to insert paper so it didn't waste a sheet of labels for a fax...pretty sweet), great job printing professional glossy documents, fast, and reasonable lasting print cartridges. The only thing I miss about my 2210 is the camera memory slots for uploading picutres.
