Summary: Beware Philips products - defective and difficult to repair
Review: Failed to write, lost memory, damaged CDs, ruined over many blank CDs from various manufacturers by failing in mid recording. EVERY Philips CD recorder we tried is junk! And forget their customer care even if you purchase their pricey coverage plan (which you will need if you buy their machines). The positive reviews appear to be people who were the fortunate few. Sadly Philips, which was one of the inventors of the CD technology, has failed to keep up their reputation in the CD recorder market. Buyer beware!

Summary: CD PRESERVATION
Review: For all of you that's like me, who would rather pull out teeth than let someone "BORROW" your favorite CDs...... you need this! Every CD I own (800+ and growing every tuesday) is either copied to a DAT tape, CDR or MP3 format. I HATE LIKE HELL LOANING OUT MY CDS. Normally when I buy a new CD, I copy it to CDR, put the original away and listen to the copy. The quality in this machine is that good. I'm able to record almost anything with this device. I recorded HBO's "Reverb" featuring Nelly Furtado, The Roots and Outkast from my cable digital box to this device by way of it's coaxal digital connection and the coaxal output of my cable digital box. It turned out to be a perfect live recording in wonderful CD quality sound. My only let down is the single tray feature. Without 2 trays I can't speed record CDs, but I hear that speed recordings are of poorer quality anyway. oNe

Review: I have the 3-CD changer version of this. I had mine for only a few months before it simply stopped recording on CDR's I'd been using all along. So it had to be shipped back to the Philips factory (where it stayed for 5 weeks!), so they could "look at it." Over a month later, I got a call from them saying that "Philips CD recorders are only designed to work with Philips exclusive CDR blank media." My first problem with this is that apparently nobody who sells Philips recorders knows this--or they just don't tell you-- and Philips themselves don't tell you in the instructions, on the box, or even at their helpline 1-800 number. Secondly, good luck trying to find any Philips CDR blank media out there, much less at a reasonable price. And even when the unit is functioning the way it should, the record-times are sporadic and the computer inside the unit is fickle at best. Please use my unfortunate experiences with Philips CD recorders to your own benefit. Do not spend your hard-earned money on this product. I'm sure there are other quality CD recorders out there, but I just blew my money on the wrong one.

Summary: Best CD Recorder!
Review: This is the best CD recorder on the market today. The first two I bought just did not have the technical specs I was looking for. The recorded CDs sound exactly like the original and in some cases even better. The only drawback is that it is single deck instead of dual.
