Rating: Summary: Bad Right Out of the BOX Review: Nothing but bad luck! The manual is one of the poorest manuals I have ever seen!!! While recording/dubbing I get "recovering" on the display and am left with an unrecorded, now ruined CDR. Nowhere in the manual does it even mention the recovering message. The unit is cheaply constructed and the manual is worse yet. My advice is to spend more and buy a reputable brand!
Rating: Summary: Back To Radioshack Review: Terrible machine and I love the challenge of figuring out stuff...but this one was too much. The manual was horrible. The best part of a maual, imo, is the troubleshooting section. This section was no help at all. The first two I recorded played only on the RCA. Not is the Sony CD player or the newest Sony sport portable.Te next one I tried would only recorder 57 minutes of a 72 minute CD. There was alsolutely nothing in the manual to help. I tried erasing....no way....couldn't even get the thing to light up with the words the manual said should be lighting up. I'll try another brand. Sometimes cheap is cheap.
Rating: Summary: can i rate this with negative stars? Review: This unit never worked. RCA is horrid to deal with. One year later, I still haven't seen my refund. I will never buy from this company again.

Rating: Summary: Back To Radioshack Review: Well, I'm only 23 but I agree that the display is too small, but industry-typical. I actually can't find the manual, and I never read it so I have no idea whether it was useful! However, the seller I dealt with gave me this hint: This recorder ONLY works with Maxell, TDK or FUJI medias, and the other brands will not work. Who knows why. That might explain the wasted time/CDRs of the other reviewers. I have no idea if it is stated somewhere in the manual, or if it is insider-music-people common knowledge, or what. Personally, I've only used Maxell CD-Rs and they've worked just fine, every time. I haven't had to deal with RCA, but the factory warranty is there for reassurance. This machine does the job (when I use an acceptable brand of media) and I doubt you'll find anything closer to a pro-quality recorder at such a good price. I've had no durability problems. The plastic makes it light and more portable ... Heck, most of my car is plastic anyway!
