Review: I recently purchased the Minolta Maxxum STsi and am pleased to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. It's my first "real camera" and I find it easy to use and fun as well. The pictures come out wonderful, and there are so many options and features you can choose from for every single picture. The only slight drawback is that it's a little large in size, and may be bulky to carry around. But for a beginner, such as myself, this camera is a fantastic choice.

Review: I recently purchased the STsi as a "step-up" from my QTsi (also a great camera) and I truly enjoy learning about its various special features.This is a great camera for intermediate and more advanced photographers, and even recommended to professional photographers as well. Still very user-friendly, like the more basic QTsi, the STsi is the ideal camera for those who want to take that "next step" in their photographic adventures.

Summary: Minolta Maxxum STsi 3 1/2-4 Stars
Review: I was excited to finally be able to purchase a new SLR camara. After reading several reviews and comparing various manufacturer specs, I decided the Minolta Maxxum STsi would give me the best bang for my buck. As soon as it arrived I began taking pictures of my cats, dog, and house. I was really pleased with the Minolta's weight and ease of use, and the shots I took resulted in clear photos. My only disappointments are the panoramic option and flash. I didn't expect the "wide screen" effect created by the panorama function. Both the tops and the bottoms of the photos were cut off. I obviously have more to learn about the difference between a wide angle lense and one that creates a panorama effect. And within 90 days my flash crashed. I heard my flash unit pop (much like a failing light bulb before it dies) while taking an indoor photo, and it hasn't functioned since.

Summary: Happy with my new camera!
Review: I've been using an SLR for ten years that does not have any manual features, so I thought it was finally time to upgrade for more flexibility. I've tested this camera indoors and outdoors, with different speeds of film and the results have been very good. If I use the automatic features, the results are foolproof. I look forward to learning how to make the most of the manual features, and testing out different lenses. My old camera was rather heavy, and this one is noticeably light-weight. In the few weeks I've been using it, this Minolta seems well worth the money!

It hunted way too long, and this often gave way to poor shots with out-of-focus subjects. It's not so bad when you are photographing a posed shot, but candid shots were often screwed up because of this. The autoflash was also consistenly poor, making for mediocre indoor shots.<...

Summary: GREAT light weight camera -- SUPER VALUE
Review: My husband and I were tired of red eye pictures with our point and shoot camera. We just had a baby and want to take lots of pictures and get beautiful results without red eye for a change. We were hesitant about getting a SLR camera b/c of the size --but we are thrilled with this purchase. The camera is very light and easy to use (we are 1st time slr users). Our pictures have no red eye and are just beautiful! We developed with with kodak paper on 5 by 7s and are absolutely thrilled. Now we just need a case. I recommend this camera highly. The only thing missing is an automatic shut off - so you have to remember to shut it off when done. I think we got a great value with this camera.

Summary: Wish I'd Had This Sooner
Review: One of the best things about my chosen field is getting to work in a variety of wonderful locations. I hadn't even thought of buying a new camera until my old 35mm SLR developed a fatal shutter problem, but I found myself in upstate Washington in the Fall with NO camera. I reviewed and reviewed on the internet and got more confused by the minute. Then I stumbled upon a very knowledgeable camera store owner and discovered the Minolta STsi Panorama Date. It's perfect for the traveller because it's very lightweight. It's perfect for the not-so-novice-yet-not- professional photographer because it gives you great options and easy instructions. Although I probably could have gotten a better price by searching ads or waiting for delivery, I feel that the $20-30 more I paid was well worth the knowledgeability of the storeowner who recommended this camera. I rate 4 out of 5 because I'm sure if I had wanted a more expensive camera I could have had more options, but for the money, I'm VERY satisfied.
