Rating: Summary: It's two years old and hasn't skipped a beat! Review: As a long time audiophile with in excess of 3,000 CD's in my collection I purchased this player slightly more than two years ago (November 1997). I mean, how could I go wrong purchasing a carousel player for [such a low price]. Owning several CD players (single play only) which cost in excess of $2,000 each I purchased this player on a whim, just to see how it could compare to my two CD players costing twenty to thirty times as much. Two years later both mentioned expensive players have gone belly up while the RP8065 has never stumbled, in spite of abuse on my part; abuse which was intentional. Wanting to see how durable this unit was I have tried to deliberately break it (again, at [the price] it's not the end of the world if it breaks) by keeping it on for six moths straight, turning it off while it was playing (including pulling the power plug from the wall outlet!), loading it with five CD's, setting it on repeat and lettting it play in excess of two weeks without stopping, and shutting it off without removing the CD's. It never stumbled, not even once. Oh, while it was playing I would slap it (hard) to check for resistance to shock. It could withstand a much, much harder slap before muting than the two expensive players! The RP8065's sound is as good as any CD player, regardless of price, and by price I mean units costing thousands of dollars! Throw in the convenience of a carousel (I'll never go back to a single play CD or DVD player, ever!), an easy to use remote control, an unbelieveable price ... , and you'd have to be nuts not to at least give this unit a try.
Rating: Summary: special Review: As far as I can see it, this product is a powerfull machine and easy to handle. It is of high quality compared to others.
Rating: Summary: Great CD player Review: Bought it only because it was on sale, turned out to be a great system. Had it a year now, no problems with clarity or playback. Nice features, including a swap-on-the-fly to change discs while others are playing and lamps on the front to tell you which slots have discs and which don't. No more "Where did I put my discs?" in the carousel. Overall a great CD player and a great value!
Rating: Summary: Disposable CD Player! Review: For...I shouldn't expect much. It was fine when it worked, But 1 week after the warrenty expired it started to act up. Now it won't play at all.
Rating: Summary: Broke after 3 months Review: I purchased this CD player in February of 2000. It just broke yesterday (May 2000). It no longer detects the CD's and keeps skipping from one disk to another and finally says "NO DISC". I opened it up to see if there was anything I could adjust--there was nothing I could do. The entire unit is made of plastic. This is a cheap piece of equipment which wasn't designed to last very long.
Rating: Summary: piece of junk Review: i purchased this product from a large electronics store, and not even a year later the laser is shot. Now all it does is sit in a box under my bed and collect dust. This product is decieving. The price is good, but not worth the risk of it breaking on you in less than a year

Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: I received this "player" as a gift for Christmas in 1998. Within a year, it was completely shot and would not even read or play CD's, even brand new CD's. It wouldn't play in any mode. I had previously owned a JVC single CD player for nine previous years and never had any problems. I don't care how attractive this player is because of the price, it you spend money on it you will be very disappointed when it fails to operate. And I didn't operate the player in adverse conditions. Cheap junk. The salesman tried to tell me that the laser eyes have changed in the newer models but I still say this player is not worth crap.
Rating: Summary: Nice, new CD Changer that will work with older RCA Remotes! Review: I was not even planning to buy a CD changer at this time, but when I saw the RCA RP8065 Changer I could not believe how nice it was...the price was just a bonus, this player competes well with more expensive units, and I am shocked at how nice the unit is, not even the least bit cheesy. If you have an older RCA Stereo system such as the high end Dimensia system from the late 80's, you will be pleased to know that almost all functions of the RP8065 can be accomplished with the Dimensia System remote control. This is quite a bonus in my book, as many post Dimensia CD Players from RCA will not work with RCA's system remotes (to my knowledge), but this one does, and it even turns on and off like a system component. The Changer is only lacking in the fact that it does not have direct track access, you only have up or down with the remote. But overall, this is a super deal in this price range, put this player on your shelf and it looks, acts and sounds like a player costing much much more.
Rating: Summary: One star could very well be too many! Review: I was very pleased to get it in under a week. I would have remained pleased had the thing worked! You look at a ting like this cd player and the reeviews are really split, and I suppose that's becuase the thing is cheap and at that price I think if it breaks in year so what. But the problem mine had was the exact problem eveyone gets in a year, the player just flashed 'no disc'. This really is enough to get you pretty upset when you've waited a week....
