Rating: Summary: Fair Player Review: After following Consumer Reports recomendation I bought this player. It's not bad, but lack some basic features. For example: You can't select or deselect random while a disc is playing, it's reading of less than perfect discs is poor, you can't select random from within User groups. These are all desired features that I would have liked. Otherwise it's a decent player
Rating: Summary: Lacking Review: Aside from the fact that as soon as the warranty expired the CD player started jamming often, I was disappointed with it from the beginning. Although one can categorize each CD by genre one can't have the player play a random selection of a particular genre which makes the random function rather useless it's difficult to have a dinner party and have the CD player skip from Miles davis to Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Chopin. These days there are players with even larger capacities. One can do better...
Rating: Summary: Feeling Gyped By JVC Review: Don't Buy JVC.I am completely dissapointed in this cd changer. I purchased it and installed dozens of cds. Not too long after the warranty expired the machine kept jamming the discs. I took it to an authorized repair shop. I waited 6 weeks to get it returned and had to pay approximately 75% of what I paid to purchase it in the first place. Well, it did work for a while, however, once again after the repair warranty expired the machine started jamming the discs again. I've given up and purchased a Sony (which I'm quite pleased with so far). While I did have use of the machine I was often frustrated by the extremely complicated remote control. It seemed there was no function that required the push of just 1 button. Virtually all functions required a combination of buttons to be pushed and there is a short time out feature which caused me to have to start over many times. I used to think JVC was a quality brand name, but no more. I've also been disappointed in there VCR. I feel JVC MUST know how flimsy their products are but care not. No more JVC for me.
Rating: Summary: creasy carrousel Review: I bough this product and it work well for only 8 months, at this moment the carrousel is all creasy and the discs don't plays.
Rating: Summary: Lacking Review: I bought this changer over a year ago to replace a Sony 10 disk that had burnt out. Figured I'd go with a different manufacturer this time. BIG mistake. I have NEVER seen a CD player skip as much as this one. Other reviewers who have mentioned this know what I mean. I can put a brand new disk in there and it will skip. I put the same disk in my cheap portable or my car changer and there's no problem. A disk has to be completly perfect for this player. And, like someone else said, it does not like CD-R's. It will play some just fine, but skip more than not. This is the LAST JVC CD player I will ever buy, and I'm looking to get rid of it already. Stay away!

Rating: Summary: An Excellent Buy Review: I got this player almost a year ago and it has worked flawlessly since then. I have never had a problem with skipping like other reviewers, the only time it skips is when I accidentally slam my dresser drawer (oops). The JVC compulink features are great, just hit play on the remote control and the player and the reciever turn on. Discs are easy to load and sound is great, my only complaint is the title input... very hard to manually enter titles for CDs character by character using the remote or unit. A port to plug in a keyboard would help. Excellent overall, though! Very happy and would (and have) buy JVC again.

Rating: Summary: Not perfect, but good Review: I've had this CD changer for about 4 years and have never had any problems with it. I initially bought it because I had other JVC AV equipment and liked the compulink with this CD player. It is a bit loud switching CDs but its always done so with out problems. The play quality was fine and it plays CDRs. The drawbacks? Inputing CD information (cumbersome with most players) is a pain even on my TV screen. Also, it does not play MP3 cds, which were relative new when I bought it. Other than that, I've loved having it.
Rating: Summary: No skips or misses Review: I've had this unit for only one month so I can't address long term performance. So far, it has done everything it's supposed to do. Unlike another reviewer, I've had no problems with skipping when playing less than perfect disks. Most of my CD's are years old and my old Kenwood single disk player regularly skipped and even refused to play many of my disks. This JVC unit plays them all without a hitch. The negatives are mostly minor. Although you can categorize disks by music genre, and program the unit to play by genre, it's all types or nothing in random mode. The unit is preprogrammed with a 27 music classifications, from Adult Contemporary to World Music, but oddly, Blues isn't included and you can't add it. Routine operation is simple enough, but programming the unit for custom operation isn't particularly intuitive. I found it a little more diffiucult than typical VCR programming. Other than these few things, the unit works great. I'm happy.
