Rating: Summary: Nice picture, but lacks CD Functions and usability Review: After trying the unit, I am returning it. I agree with the other reviews about the manual being poor, but my complaint is with the CD functions. Through my system, CD's sounded bright and harsh compared to my standard CD player. This unit also will not let you randomly play songs on multiple CD's. It will shuffle the songs on a single CD, but not shuffle between CD's. The video looked great, and the remote was not as bad as others have claimed. If you just want video, it is a fine unit....if you plan on using for audio CD's as well, I would look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT BUY PANASONIC!!! Review: Aside from the annoying load times and the fact that it broke after the first 9 months, this was a pretty good DVD player otherwise. I got this player as a gift to replace a vintage player from the late 1990's. In contrast it was a pretty bad move, while my old player would load a disc in no time flat, the Panasonic would take about 30-45 seconds to read the disc BEFORE it began playing. It was something I could live with, but I wouldn;t have to for long. After about 9 months the thing started showing error H07. BLAST. I started to Google and came to realize I was not the only person with this problem. I contacted Panasonic via Email, they informed me that I would have to ship my player away and would be charger labor to repair the player. Seeing mixed results on the web, and with a hefty price tag of approx.85-100 for the repair I decided against it, and pulled my old payer out of the closet. I WILL NEVER BUY PANASONIC ANYTHING ever again.
Rating: Summary: H02 Error ... Beware Review: Before you buy a Panasonic DVD player do a google search on "Panasonic H02". You will discover that it appears there is a problem with these units. I had mine for 30 days got the error and had to send it away for warranty repair about 13 months later it happened again. Not under warranty I have to junk it now...what a bad decision to buy this unit. Customer service is also terrible.
Rating: Summary: Not a DVD Audio player Review: Contrary to Amazon's listing, this is not a DVD-Audio player. Yes, it will play DVD-Audio discs, (as ANY DVD-Video player can), but it does not have the high-resolution DAC's and 6 component outputs that are required for it to qualify as a DVD Audio player.
Rating: Summary: Get something else Review: Good: - This has a great picture and a reasonable price.Bad: - It worked for about 6 months, but now refuses to recognize any disk. (It shows an "H06" error) We haven't braved the warranty return yet. - The remote control is very badly designed.
Rating: Summary: Best DVD for the money Review: I bought this player about a week ago. I love the extra bass features and the five disc carousel. The remote could use a little more inovation.
Rating: Summary: Panasonic DVD-CP67 and the H07 error code Review: I bought this player about a year ago. It skipped a few times in the beginning of its life. I recently started authoring DVDs, and when they did not play correctly, I thought it was the media or the rate in which I captured the video through my Dazzle. But this past weekend, it eventually died player and audio CD giving an error code of H07. I googled this error code and found that Panasonic charges $85 for labor to fix. I'm going to throw this unit in the trash and buy a better one for less money.
Rating: Summary: Dont buy for playing CDs Review: I bought this to replace my old 5-CD changer, and thought I'd get DVD as a bonus. Unfortunately, its design as a multifunction device makes it a poor choice for playing CDs. A bad UI and frustrating useability finally caused me to return it. * Too long to startup: you must wait through a 30+ second "boot up" cycle while it scans all discs, ignoring the Play button until a small cryptic indicator on the front panel indicates it's ready. Only then can you press Play. * No auto-play: unlike my old CD changer, you cannot program it to start playing a CD at power up. You are forced to wait through the entire boot cycle in order to manually press the Play button. * No automatic sequential disc play: after the boot sequence, you must press the dedicated Sequential play button on the front panel - you cannot set Sequential play from the remote! * No "Disc Skip" button on the remote: you must know which disk is currently playing, and specifically select the next one. * Remote is too small, too many buttons, clearly DVD-centric On the plus side, the CD audio quality was good, and the picture out of the S-video port was great, although on the 3 DVDs I rented there were always some sections on the "Extra Features" tracks that glitched during playback. In short, I could only recommend this product if you don't have enough room for 2 dedicated devices and need multifunctionality - otherwise, take the same $...and buy a...DVD and a...CD changer.
Rating: Summary: Good Value for the price Review: I got this DVD changer couple of weeks back and am quite impressed with the superior performance and sleek design. The picture and sound quality is pretty good and it plays mp3 audio as well. The only drawback is the on-screen display and the remote which are not too intuitive and easy-to-use. It took me a while to figure out how to use the progressive scan output with my HDTV - also, the on-screen menu displays cannot be easily manipulated without reading the manual.
Rating: Summary: [PANACHRONIC] Review: I took my time and researched a ton of DVD players and this was the best all-a-round player for me. I really didn't want a oversized phatty 5 disc player thats another reason why i chose this one. And yeah it would have been nice to have another set of RCA out puts but here is my secrect. Just plug in the video cable to the player (leave R L RCAs unplugged) Take theR&L RCAs FROM YOUR STEREO plug them into your DVD player. Then plug the other end of your RCA cables into Your TV (ALL THREE) now your home theater is hooked up. I hope this helps!!
