Summary: good for about a year
Review: This changer worked for me for about a year, and then got so annoying that I threw it away. It never would play a CD-R, and it wouldn't even play some new CD's right out of the package. The CD's that it did play sounded fine, if it played them all the way through. Then there is the problem with the tray. A few days before it found its self inside a dumpster, it started having problems with the tray coming out. Most of the time it would come out on command, but sometimes I'd push the button several times before it opened. The last straw with this stupid thing is when I had to pry it open with a screwdriver to get a couple of CD's out.

I've always taken very good care of my stereo. I keep it clean, and it stays cool. This player was no exception. So it didn't die because of abuse. It died because of poor workmanship. All of my components are now JVC. Some I have had over ten years, with no problems. This was the first (and last) product I ever bought from Teac. This is a low end player, but I did expect more out of it than what I got. This is just junk. Pay the extra 20 bucks and get the JVC model. It will last much longer, and will play ALL of your CD's.

Summary: Pretty darn good!
Review: This is my first CD Player in a very long time and I am glad I purchesed it. I love the fact it has a control[don't cll me lazy] but I find it annoying to walk across the room just to switch the cd or skip a track when you can lift a light piece of machinery and press a button or two then go back to what you were doing before. This is defiantly a good buy!

Summary: TEAC is great!
Review: This thing has rocked my world for the past 12 years. I got an earlier version of this thing around 1990 as a Christmas present from my parents and let me tell you it is a great CD player. I have abused the stuffings out of this thing. It is always getting thrown around from place to place. Then I had it at college for 4 years being used by all kinds of people who probably used it as a soccer ball or punching bag. Then during senior year some clowns dumped a bunch of beer all over it at a party and it kept right on playing. Then someone was moving it and forgot to take the CD's out first so they slid off the tray and into the inner workings of the CD player. So we had to rip all the insides out to get the CD's out (they were really good CD's) and then put them all back together again as best we could. Also, at one point, my roommate dropped it down some concrete stairs. That kid was a catastrophe. By some miracle (or the geniuses over at TEAC), to this day it still works well and sounds great! It will play any CD I burn on my computer flawlessly and never skips. I don't know how you could beat a TEAC CD player. It is built like a tank and can take whatever hand you deal it. If you are looking for a CD player, go with old faithful.
