Panasonic SC-PM29 5-CD Shelf System

Summary: Just what I needed
Review: If you're looking for something that's going to blow the doors off the house...keep looking. But this radio is just what I was looking for and it sounds awesome at normal volume levels. As you crank it up you may need to reduce the bass a little, but I am very happy with this purchase.

Review: Overall a good system, but not great. The speakers and sound are very good. Especially for mp3s, the sound is better than normal. It combines a tape player, cd/mp3 player, and radio into one unit. It also has 4 lines of display. The unit looks cool too.

There are several drawbacks though. The unit is very deep because it has the five cd changer and finding a place to put it may not always be easy.

The other major drawback is that it is very difficult to do simple tasks such as shuffle play or other play modes. I use it most to play mp3s but it just plays the songs in the order they were burned. You cannot surf around either, so finding a song is nearly impossible. That is the biggest problem with the system. If you are organized enough though, its not a major problem.

Still once you have something playing its a great system.

Sound lacks high frequences even on maximum EQ settings
No support for ID3 tags in MP3 files
No support for playlists for MP3 (I think HighMAT does support playlists)
No random play for MP3/WMA files

Review: This little system is incredible!!
I used to own the Panasonic SC-PM22 and wanted a good replacement, one that sounded just as incredible as the SC-MP22,
(which was awesome in it`s time ). This SC-PM29 is truly awesome! One of Panasonics greatest secrets to sound quality
is the TAKE II capaciter. These capaciters alighn the electrons
that pass through them so the electrons are not in a coiled path like the systems from Sony and JVC. This defines The sound quality. you can here every little detail in your music!!. The sound is very rich and full. Panasonic also uses diffusers to make up the surround affect. Thay also uped the power.
My SC-PM22 was rated at 10 watts for the main speakers and 20
for the subs. The SC-PM29 is rated at 35 watts for the main speakers and the subs. If your a very detailed Audio File
like myself go buy this mini system. You will love it!!
