Summary: Works like a Charm
Review: CD to Cd is great.
Analog is easy too, if you hook it up right.
USING RCA WIRES - RED & WHITE ones.
There are no real instructions on hooking it up to work
with a Cassette recorder on your receiver(amp).
What you have to do is disconnect your Cassette player from your receiver(amp)and hookup the CD Recorder to its hookups then hookup the Cassette player (OUT) to any hookup in AUX, DVD, TV, or VCR hookup on your receiver(amp).
On the CD Recorder keep pressing the INPUT button till it says ANALOG.
then set the MANUAL/AUTO to MANUAL.
then press EXT. RECORD button,
once you see READY start your cassette and then press PLAY.
Once done press and hold (for 3 seconds)the FINALIZE button.
Then enjoy your new CD.
PS
Always use MUSIC CD-Rs or MUSIC CD-RWs

Summary: TDK DA-5900 Dual Well CD Recorder - a good deal
Review: I do not own this machine, although I do have an Aiwa XC-RW700, which I have reviewed elsewhere on this site. However, when I saw the TDK at J&R for 200, I mentioned it to a couple of friends, who both bought one. Since then, I have had a couple of opportunities to use the TDK 5900.

Like any CD duplicator, it produces clones (with the exception that the copy has SCMS), so of course the copy is going to sound as good as the original - it's simply doing what digital copiers do - a bit for bit copy.

I find the TDK totally acceptable, but not quite as easy to use as the Aiwa. In fact, when I was helping one friend with a problem, it turned out that the user manual contained an error - actually an omission. So the problem was in the documentation only, the actual unit worked as it should.

Nevertheless, I have found that there are times when the TDK will tell me there isn't enough space left on the target CD, even when there is. It goes ahead and copies anyway, but it is a bit un-nerving getting that message.

For 200 or less, it's a very good deal. Neither friend has reported any reliability problems. Seems to read CDs just fine (I recently had a commercial CD that my Aiwa would not recognize and had to use a different CD player as the input device - not a big problem, but I did have to copy in real time).

The TDK will copy at 1x, 2x, and 4x. Unlike the Aiwa, I believe it will copy programmed tracks at 4x (the Aiwa is limited to 2x for programs). It really isn't at all difficult to use, just not as smooth as I would like it to be. My most recent use with one was a couple of weeks ago.

I'd recommend this unit for anyone who wants to spend $200 or less - it's a pretty good steal at that price. I do not know if it is still currently on the market, but there is always Ebay!

Summary: recording made simple
Review: i'm not an audiophile or recording engineer,so simplicity is very important to me. and this recorder fits the bill perfectly. so far iam totally happy with the way it performs. the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because i haven't had it or used it long enough to rate it's dependability, which is also important to me.

Summary: Great Recorder
Review: This is probully one of the best recorders ive used. The Sound Qulity is Great and it is very easy to use. The Only Complaint i would have is that the front pannel design doesnt match my other componets, but other then that its a Great Recorder And At a good price I Highly Recomend it.
