Summary: just what the doctor ordered
Review: I began looking for a camera after problems with my last point and shoot and wanted to upgrade to something more powerful. Searching on the internet allowed me to find many reviews and potential replacements, and Amazon offerered prices about 30% less than my local vendors - with a Minolta lens instead of an off-brand. My wife an I took about 10 rolls within the first few weeks - everything from portraits of our son, to sunsets (panoramic), to action shots, to shots with different depths of focus. The camera performed extremely well, is light weight, and seems to help with any "shaking" when taking pictures. The lens is great for shots between 3 to 50 feet, but not much can be focused on beyond that. I am looking forward to getting a 210 or 300mm zoom lens. Overall we have been very happy with the features and the feel of the camera, and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Don't buy this camera.
Review: I bought both Canon Rebel G and Maxxum STsi, just want to find out which one I like better. STsi comes nowhere closer than Rebel. Under same condition and using same type of films, STsi's color, sharpness and balance are much poorer than Rebel. Sometime STsi looks like it doesn't know where it should put its focus on...Get a Cannon or Nikon.

Summary: Wow, what a GREAT CAMERA! Great shots right outta the box!
Review: I bought this camera for my girlfriend on her birthday, and she LOVES it. We immediately took it up to Lake Tahoe.

The shots that she took were not only postcard quality, but a lot better than a lot of the postcards we saw while touring the city! And this is after reading only a couple pages on the camera manual, and being pretty novice at picture taking.

The shots we took in pretty dark rooms (at the Ponderosa Ranch's old automobile displays) came out looking like we were snapping photos in perfect daylight. The horizons were incredible. The Panorama shots were breathtaking. Honestly, these photos looked professional.

If you want a camera that'll give you great panorama shots as well as anything else, with cool options that allow you to fuzzy out the foreground or the background, depending on your preference, you're found one right here. This shouldn't disappoint you in the least. Just two days ago, the camera was used for Prom photos. Awesome, awesome camera.

Summary: GREAT CAMERA-MODERATE PRICE
Review: I bought this camera for my wife, who wanted a better camera than her standard non-focusing, "gives-ya-red-eye", "cheap" 35mm camera. She was tired of pictures being out of focus---etc.She took 5-10 minutes to look over the manual, and started taking pictures within minutes. She is very pleased with how easy this camera is to use. She now takes this camera (joyfully) to all family functions, as well as at home-and prefers it (for now) over our basic digital camera. It's a great starter camera,(for the price & the functions) having manual or auto-focus -which is great when I need to use it, and I'm not wearing my glasses!

Summary: Best Entry Level SLR for the price
Review: I have bought this camera and i am happy with it. This is the only good SLR camera on the market within $300 range. This one has all the necessary features you will ever need at entry level to make good photos (depth of field prewiev is the only exception). i highly recomment this product.

Summary: Excited "new owner"
Review: I just got my camera and it's the first SLR camera I've owned.
This camera has many, many features and options and I am learning how to fully operate it. I find the instruction manual easy to understand, its light weight and easy to handle. In comparing it to my Nikon point and shoot.... Well I can't. If your looking for your first "real camera" try the Minolta STsi.
The picures are incredible.

Summary: Happy with my new camera!
Review: I just got this camera and it is GREAT! This is my 1st venture into the world of SLRs & this is awesome. I can't say enough about this camera. I went from a point & shoot Minolta to the Maxxum STsi & it is a world of difference. I can now take great close-up shots of my two children. And the colors are very vibrant & rich. I don't understand all the manual settings, but I think I'll be able to learn quickly with this camera. Even if I don't, the automatic setting takes beautiful pictures anyways. I love this camera!

Review: I purchased this as my first serious use camera, and its great quality has gotten me into photography. I now frequently set aside my travel photos to be enlarged and framed. I've had no problems with this camera and would recommend it to anyone seriously considering buying an SLR camera.

Review: I received an STsi as a gift after I returned my Rebel 2000. The STsi handled nicer and offered more accurate exposure. The cameras ability to detemine what I was shooting impressed me. The STsi offers eay to use accurate picture taking. It was a great gift and I highly recommend it
