Rating: Summary: If you really want an underwater camera.... Review: ...get the SeaLife ReefMaster. 16.4 feet could turn out to be a real limitation. Besides, for that kind of range, the Canon Sureshot A-1 is a better buy.
Rating: Summary: Elegant, all-terrain APS Camera. Review: Canon Elph Sport Camera is a cute, all terrain Advanced Photo System (aps) camera that if properly used will give good quality pictures. The camera is waterproof to a depth of 5 meters or 16 ft. Underwater, if you compose correctly following the instructions'booklet, you will get pictures with a better quality of those taken with disposable waterproof cameras. But this is a camera for snorkelers or shallow water divers, not for professional or advanced scuba divers that will find that this little camera is useless at depths bigger than 5 mts. On land, the camera will also give a good performance. But again, this is mainly a camera for the tourist or the casual photographer since it is limited by its single Canon 23 mm f 4.8 lens. Other than that, the camera offers all the advantages, for the beginner photographer, that can be found on other APS cameras, that is, automatic film cartrigde loading, built in flash with red-eye reduction, automatic shooting modes, date, time and title imprinting and 3 print formats (classic, panoramic and group size). The camera uses one lithium battery (CR2) weights only 220 g. and it is small, portable and very nice looking (measures WxHxD- 4.1x2.9x1.8 in.)A good buy if you have some extra dollars to spend(199) in a versatile, elegant and easy to carry little camera.
Rating: Summary: Disapointed Review: Extremely disapointed. I just bought it and brought it with me as my only camera on my honeymoon and was unable to take any pictures with it. Dispite following all the cautions stated on the camera regarding the seal, during my first role of film while snorkeling the camera died. It appears to be extremely sensitive to water. I would not reommend this to anyone who would like to use it in the water, which is the main reason I picked this one.
Rating: Summary: Great while it worked Review: Great camera, compact and good looking. It made great pictures, the downside is that it stoped working after 6 months, it began having problems that were solved by calling Canon's 800 #, I now have to send it in to be checked or replaced.Again, it may be my bad luck, if I was rating the months it worked I would've given it 5 stars. Hope you have better luck!
Rating: Summary: Really good. Review: Great Deal. Small, easier, fast, nice look and a great warranty.
Rating: Summary: Be sure to clean seals before using underwater. Review: I bought this camera for my 14 year old to take on a sailing trip to Hawaii. She loved it and got a good area of pictures, including lots of panoramic and some underwater shots. She had fun with it and was the envy of her friends. However, trouble set in when she took the camera to the Caribbean on a similar trip this year. Toward the end of the trip the camera stopped functioning. The repair shop said that water got in and corroded the motherboard because the seals weren't properly checked and cleaned before each underwater use. I guess we didn't read the instructions carefully enough before putting a teenager in charge. The cost of repair was almost the cost of a new camera. However, I would consider buying another one.
Rating: Summary: Great vacation camera Review: I bought this camera specifically for vacationing with kids. It has performed beautifully. Outdoor pictures are fantastic. It has been dropped in sand on the beach, caught in a severe rainstorm and used for action shots on water park rides. It is so small you don't even know you have it in your fanny pack. The 3 picture sizes give alot of versatility for group shots. The date feature on the front of photos is great for later album organizaton. Highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: Indoor quality - Bad Review: I have been using this camera for quite some time now and I'm very disappointed. Night and indoor pictures I have taken are terrible. I have the camera setup correctly, but the pictures are either really fuzzy or dark.
Rating: Summary: hey, it works.... Review: I have had this camera for a little over a year now, and it hasn't broken. For me this is saying a whole lot. I typically keep it in my backpack which goes everywhere with me. I have had beer spilled all over it at parties. Taken it to the beach. Slammed it against rocks hiking. Fallen on it skiing and it still hasn't broken. For an active 20yr old kid it can't be beat. I haven't had problems with indoor pictures as others have said. We also have used it to take pictures wakeboarding from a tube behind the boat. Where we discovered one more advantage....it floats
