Summary: Buying As Gift - I Love The One I Own!
Review: I researched many, many, many Point-And-Shoot cameras in early 2003 mainly for hiking. I selected this one for size, quality, and many recommendations from other websites and in-store camera personnel. This is my 3rd P&S camera and by far the best one I have had yet. I had an Advantix film camera (which I do not recommend to anyone) last summer and took some of the same photos again with my new Pentax this summer. Side by side the difference was NIGHT & DAY. This camera takes amazing photos, especially outdoors. I'm coming back to buy another one for my mother for Christmas because she was so impressed with the print quality of my camera. She has a professional Cannon SLR ($$$) camera and said she could hardly tell the difference between my photos and hers. As for the additional remote issue mentioned in other reviews, I bought it too. But I've since realized with the timer function I really just don't even use the remote - I just set the timer and always have time to scurry into the photo. I highly recommend this camera for yourself or as a gift, you will not be disapointed!!

Summary: The Best Camera I Ever Owned.
Review: I researched point & shoot 35mm cameras thoroughly, and the Pentax IQZoom 120Mi was the obvious choice for what I needed. I compared Canon, Fuji, Minolta, Nikon and Olympus models, as well as Pentax. I was replacing a 1989 model Pentax IQZoom 900- 38-90mm, that was simply too big, and took 2 lithium batteries. (It still works flawlessly, and takes great photos.) I needed the best small zoom camera for the money. I am far from a professional photographer, and I don't take photos every week. I am just an average photographer who likes to know that whatever the situation, I can get great photos.
The best features of the new camera include: the small overall size- but with big enough to use operational buttons, metal case, the illuminated (at night) LCD panel, the great zoom lens and viewfinder, easy to use shooting and flash modes, and simplicity of overall use.
Even my wife, who hates to even try a new camera, is very impressed with this one. She has a Pentax IQZoom60s, and finds the 120 just as easy to use.
My test roll of ASA 200 film worked great in both indoor low light flash and outdoor, bright light situations, including backlight- where the fill-in flash works automatically . I do think that I will use ASA 400 film most of the time, as it is more versatile. That is what Pentax recommends on their web site.

I have also owned Nikon, Minolta and Olympus cameras; but Pentax has by far the best features for the price. It also has one of the best reliability ratings.

I look forward to as many years of good photos as I have gotten from the old Pentax. Buy one of the IQZoom 120 Mi's- you will love it!

Summary: Great little camera for the beginner/traveler
Review: I took this camera with me on a two-week vacation through New Zealand. It was versatile, compact, easy to use, and took great photos. Out of seven rolls of 200-speed film and various lighting situations (the bright outdoors to a dimly lit wedding reception at night), only four photos came out badly. Those could've been avoided if I hadn't had subjects in the foreground and/or had used the camera's spot focus feature. None had any red eye problems, even though I hadn't used the red eye reduction feature. Overall, it's easy to use and performs well. It's great for sliding into a pocket when traveling and the date feature is handy. The only problem I had with this camera is that its manual didn't prime the user on how to take better photos (for example, it didn't explain what situations may cause red eye or when to use spot focus). You'll get by fantastically without it, but it would've been nice.

Review: I wanted a light weight, portable camera for travel that was easy to use,lots of good features and produced great pictures....this camera delivered on all areas. The focus range is very nice and the date stamp feature and panoramic option is a plus. It also has a nice design and feels solid.

Summary: Well worth the money
Review: I won't bore you with a review fit for one of those camera magazines full of technogeek jargon. All I can tell you is, that if you are like me and you want a camera which is easy to use, easy to carry and takes great photos, look no further. The photo quality is as good as any SLR 35mm camera photos I have taken. If you want a camera that you can take on vacation and bring home great shots, this is it.

Summary: Still love this camera!!
Review: I wrote a review last summer on this camera, saying how great it was after one roll of film. One year later I still love it!! The pictures are still sharp as a tack, with flash or without. I have gone on to try Kodak and Fuji 200 and 400 film in the camera with wonderful results from all. It is a very small camera so it's easy to put in a purse and take everywhere with you. It has the date feature on it. You can have that deleted but the numbers are very small in the lower right hand corner of the pictures. They are big enough to read but small enough to not notice otherwise. The only thing that could possibly make this a greater value is if it came with a case and remote. It does not but is still definitely worth the little extra you pay compared to other p&s cameras.

I take mostly "people" shots with action (kids) and they have all turned out great! On a 24 shot roll of film I typically end up with 20+ excellent pictures - much better than with my old camera. This is easy to use, too.
